Default Official 4.5 release?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm sure this horse has been beat to death, but any word on when the carriers will be releasing an official 4.5? I'm most interested in T-Mobile because that's my carrier. I really don't want to take my chances with a beta version, but I've been dying for html email support FOREVER.

I find the latest version of the listed 8310 OS works very well on both of my Curves.

As in the past AT&T will just do it and will not make big deal over it.

You can load any carrier's 8320 OS. Not beta, fully approved 4.5 for the 8320.

Any known issues with T-Mobile? I know some people have had problems with previous versions.

Read through that sticky with the new 8320 4.5 OS. I'm sure if there have been any issues, you'll see it there.

If they did, it would be against forum rules/policy to post them. Please don't ask.

Yes, the horse has been beaten well beyond death and into a pulp. Carriers don't announce OS update releases. You can monitor the latest OS threads stickied at the top of the forum. 4.5 has been out for quite some time. None of the stickied releases are betas -- as has already been mentioned forum policy prohibits linking to betas.

You don't have to wait on your carrier. An 8310 is an 8310. As long as you match up the model numbers (must be identical) you can cross-load OS's. They're all produced by RIM anyway. It's actually quite rare that any of my BB's have an OS from the carrier that sold the BB. Your carrier-specific settings are in the service books pushed by the carrier's network -- not the OS itself. There are some carrier-specific apps (TMO 5, at&t PTT, etc) but loading or not loading these is pretty well covered in the stickied threads.

As for potential issues, again, read the stickied threads. There are posts and discussions from those who have upgraded. Those are your best resource for specific information on specific releases.

The biggest gripe I have is that I can not change different colors for the folders i make. it only stays in manila.

I didn't care about the HTML Email, Youtube, better browser, Video recorder, DocsToGo, or any of the other features that run perfectly on my phone. I just want my colored folders!

You will get that back with the next release of the OS.
