Default .64 upgrade trouble

Please Login to Remove!

Did the t mobile upgrade to .64-- It was going well-- Then the phone locked up with the 507 error. Couldn't do much. Finally got it to load, but it wiped everything from my phone includine my enterprise activation.

Tried to activate then--- couldn't.

Thank god I backed up. I restored to the previous OS.. and all is fine again. On an upgrade-- should all of my settings, and everything ALSO be copied over? Or would it be like starting over?

Yes, it should have backed up everything, and then restored it.

Were you connected to your PC through a USB hub? I've seen the OS load fail under that condition.

If you were connected to your corporate LAN then the Enterprise Activation would have automatically rerun itself. It you need to rerun EA then you have to get the one time use password from your BES Admins.

Default ok..

Well... I am back to the old OS .. I was connected to the USB on my cpu. And it was just odd-- took forever... finally got it going but I knew something wasn't right.

Corporate help desk for where I work is closed today, so I will wait til tomorrow to attempt again-

My restore... restored everything, including the EA activation, so I am all back to normal. Do I even need the .64? What are the advantages of it?

Thanks. Ltr.

I am curious about this as well. What specific bugs does it fix? Does it have any new bugs that are more profound? I cannot really think of any bugs on this phone.

As has been posted MANY, MANY times on the forum, RIM gives the release notes to the carriers. The carriers choose not to release them to their customers.

As one example of a bug fixed after 4.2.0.42, if the Pearl was locked, and a phone call came in, even moving the Pearl caused the phone to stop ringing. Resulting in missed calls. That was fixed. 4.2.0.42 could only handle 1GB microSD cards. Fixed in all subsequent releases.
