I can read cyrillic on my 8700r.
Is there actually a way to have an input also?

Enabling input in languages other than English:

Open Desktop Manager
Start Application Loader
Under section Languages and Input Support - do you see your language listed? If you do- place checkmark behind it and OK all prompts.


If language of your liking is not available under that section- you are out of luck. You can contact your wireless carrier or RIM but don't expect them add new language soon.


One another option could be to find if blackberry is sold in country where that language is native (Cyrillic - Russian - Russia), download blackberry OS from local wireless carrier web site and install it on blackberry. Chances are, it will support that language for input- but it is not guaranteed.

I'm on Rogers network in Canada and don't have anything installed on my computer for synchronization.
Is there any way to download these files directly off the net to the blackberry?

Hi, I am new to those forums, sorry in advance if this question has been answered before.

I am also trying to get russian support for my blackberry 8100. I need it to read texts and such, and it seems that my OS version doesn't support russian.

I have downloaded the t-mobile software described above, and before installing it, I wonder: will it simlock my blackberry to a t-mobile sim? I use another cellphone provider, so it would really mess up a lot
