Default Issues with my 9930

Please Login to Remove!

I keep getting a message that my device is not yet registered each time I click the email setup icon. I have tried registering it several times and even received confirmation from o2, but the problem still persists. Is there anyway to resolve this issue??

Had this exact same issue with my 9900 that I got yesterday. I called Rogers customer service and had them force the service books down and within 15 minutes everything was good.

BTW I tried about 20 times to register the phone via the host routing table with no luck. i guess this is a known issue if you use the "Device Switch" via Desktop Manager or from the Setup options within the phone.

So should I call o2 to force the service books down? What does it mean to force it down?? Does this have to do with the fact that they're not the original carriers of my device, although it was unlocked when I got it. Verizon is the original carrier

No, and you can resend your own service books by logging into your BIS account. When you register and assuming that the device did register successfully, you will get an e-mail telling you as such. You can also go into your options and register the device. I just forgot the exact location as I'm on my 8530 today - not my 9900. I'm sure someone else can chime in here and tell you exactly where to find it. That will force the device to register on the network.

You can just type routing and Host Routing Table shows up in the uni search. Click on it, hit the BB key and choose Register Now.

I've done this registration via the host routing several times and I get an email confirming the successful registration. However, it still says not registred when I click on the email setup icon. I've also tried sending the service books from my BIS account

Are you able to log in to your BIS account and configure your e-mail accounts?

In which screen are you getting this "not registered" message and what is the exact message dialogue?

I get it when I click on the email accounts icon under setup and when I click on email account management from the bb message icon. The message is "your device is not registered, please register your device and try again", and then it also tells me how to register by going to the host routing table, which I've done severally.

And you have the correct PIN entered on your BIS page for your device? Have you called your carrier and had them remove it from the network and register it again?

I called them and they took me off and registered me all over again. They finally told me it's probably a problem with the device itself.

Standard response from carriers - LOL
I'd wipe the device completely using something like BBSAK (or Javaloader from RIM) and install the latest OS. I bet that will fix the problem. Do a full backup 1st though and before you restore, activate your BIS accounts from the device.
