Icon menu stops working bold 9900

Hi All,
This forum has been quite useful to me so thought I would share this strange issue I encountered with my new Bold 9900. For some reason the main icon menu for new apps installed stopped showing up. There are two ways of openning: either highlighting the icon with the optic mouse and pressing the Blackberry button, or by pressing and holding the icon on the touch screen. Neither method worked for some reason. This meant I could no longer move the icons around or delete apps from the main screen.
The fix:
Plug BB9900 and sinc with blackberry desktop software. Run the backup function. Device/Backup
Disconnect the unit
On the main screen press the Blackberry button and select option
scroll down to the bottom and select: Reset settings
Here you have options, I just select Icon Arrangement and Home Screen Panels
Once the process is done, turn the unit off, remove the battery for a good 10 seconds. Then restart. The app icons will need to be re-organized but at least the main menu should work again.
