Default Message Display Options

Please Login to Remove!

Just getting my 9900 all setup with my preferred settings....one thing I can't seem to find though is how to
'display message header on: 1 Line'
as my previous generations blackberries are all setup to do.

Any ideas?!

Thanks!

another issue....maybe I haven't dug deep enough, but missing alot of the old alerts and ringtones that my old units had....kinda annoying to re-learn the sounds for email, bbm etc.

I haven't found "one-line" messages either, but I did a Switch Device and everything running just fine afterwards. All my custom alerts and ringtones were just there. There is the odd app that's not updated yet, but I'm a very happy camper.

k, never mind re alerts...turns out when I checked my work 9780 they weren't there either, did some digging and found out they dropped them from os 5 to os 6... found the link to download them seperate.

Upgraded to OS 6 - ringtones now missing - how do ... - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

If we are able to change it, I haven't found the way yet.

"Display Message Header on: 1 line" I have no idea what you're after but I'm curious if this was in BB5/BB6 and where you found it?

If you go into the message options, Message Display and Actions menu, 'Display Message Header On: 1Line"
is available (from my 9780)

I liked that one line option too. Unfortunately they have removed it for some reason.

Maybe it will return in a future OS update?

AH! Thank you I never noticed that in General Options before.
So it is gone in BB7; I'm very curious as to why? Would adjusting Group by Subject and another Messages Option bring this back - or - is this something restricted with the recent provider BIS changes? I momentarily had my personal 9900 on BES and pulled it off after 2 days yet I was unaware to look for this.

I am on BES only, so it does not make difference whether BES or BIS.

I suppose that RIM, in their infinite wisdom, thought that with the larger screens there would be little or no cause to choose the 1-line display option. 2 lines per email is fine until you have 30 or so emails on your BlackBerry and then it becomes a pain in the butt to scroll through.

Yeap, not available on the 9900. It's a shame, RIM is so clueless about what they're doing with not only features but as a company in general.

It would be nice to see this added or released in a future update. We should all send them feedback.
