Default Help! I'm going crazy. Really.

Please Login to Remove!

Just bought a new BB 9700. Try to add an input language to it.
Just can't make it.
The problem is that I think my Desktop Manager is not full, or not well configured, so all suggestions I've read on the web about how to do it don't work! Why? Because I just don't have options like "Language..." in my DM. I don't have "Application loader" (Just "Applications" tab), etc. Nothing.

I already invested 7 hours or so on this. It's frustrating. And I see myself as a quasi-hacker.

Please help!

First off, what version of Desktop Manager are you using?

And next, what OS do you have installed on the 9700?

The simplest method is to have an OS release that contains the language you need, but you haven't said what that is.

Hi, Thanks for the help!

DM is version 6.0
OS is version 5.0.0.862.

How can I update my OS? I think I should do it from the DM. But as I said, I don't see a way how to do it.

Al, if you look at the top of this 9700s section you'll the what we call STICKY POSTS in forums. They are threads you should read, because they answer lots of questions, like how to upgrade, and we make the "Stick" the top of the forum for a reason... because people ask those questions alot.

So. Don't fear asking questions at all, but also feel free to check out the forum, because mostly likely someone has already asked your same question.

I'll ask again, what language do you want on your device, you have not said.

and look at this for upgrade directions: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...a-english.html

Thanks again.
I saw these Sticky posts, but they didn't seem to help: I want to add Hebrew to my BB. (I already have Chinese on it.)

Hebrew... You want an OS release that is names something like "9700EMEA..." which means 9700 with languages European, Middle East and Africa.
Or you want one with "9700AllLang..." which means all languages.

If it is "9700jAllLang..." then it also contains Japanese.

Thanks again!

All Languages would be fine.
Do you have a link explaining how to install the OS?

OK! I've installed the OS now, according to your Sticky guide.
Thanks in a million!!

BTW Is this the latest OS that includes all languages?

I still think there is something wrong in how RIM explains their stuff. How come they don't give the user an option in the DM that says: "install the latest OS"---which should also SAY EXPLICITLY which languages are going to be used. Or better, having a clearly specified option/explanation saying: This is how you add a language.

These are the latest OS available. When you see the list the latest version will be listed first.
