Default Cant setup OWA login using login other than primary windows login with BIS

Please Login to Remove!

To synchronise email with my Blackberry we are using the Outlook Web Access (Exchange 2003 SP2) option via the BIS website. This works fine but I have to manually update the password on the BIS website every time my windows password expires.

To get around this I have setup another windows account that has full access to my mailbox with a password that will never expire. This account will be used to synchronise the Blackberry with my mailbox using Outlook Web Access via the BIS website, then when I am prompted to change my windows password I can do so and this will not affect my Blackberry synchronisation.

The issue starts when I try to setup the new Outlook Web Access mailbox on the BIS website using the new windows account. I get an error saying that there is an issue with the username/password. This is not the case as I can login to my mailbox using the new account if I directly access our Outlook Web Access from my work or home PC. The only time it does not work is through the BIS website.

These are the details I am using to add the new account

Outlook Web Access URL: http://webmail.domain.com.au/exchange
Username: domain\<new username with full access to email account>
Password: <Password for new account>
Email address: <firstname.lastname@domain.com.au>
Mailbox name: <firstname.lastname>

I have also tried:http://webmail.domain.com.au / exchange / firstname.lastname but this does not work either. (Without the spaces, would not post properly without spaces)

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Just a thought,,, but have you tried using the IP address of the mail server. I have my OWA account set up and instead of using the https://exchange.domain.com I use the IP and it works well. Also, I have had an instance with an account where not using httpS instead of http caused an issue.

We can connect to the BIS with http://webmail.domain.com.au/exchange for all of our other BIS accounts so I dont think this is the issue. Thanks for the thought though

We are not currently using SSL so https does not apply to us. We will be implementing this in the near future. Thanks anyway

Can't say I fully understand what you are trying to do, so this may or may not be helpfull. But, it sounds like you have an Windows Active Directory? BIS uses your Exchange credentials, which Exchange gets from AD. So depending on how you have your 2nd account setup, the problem may be somewhere in-between BIS/Exchange/AD.
Also, I believe you can change your BIS password from your device ("Setup Internet E-mail"). So if you change your primary account (which sounds like you do often) you can sync your password from your BB.
