Default BES 3rd Party Tools

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have any recommendations for 3rd Party tools for the BES? I know that is a very vague question but I am just looking for some ideas of what software is out there. I am mainly looking for BES w/ Exchange related software.

Thanks,

Dan

Monitoring, Reporting & web management:
BoxTone
ZenPrise
CA Mobile Device Management
BerryStats *free

Not that this is third party, but BES 4.1.5 installation comes with the BlackBerry Monitoring Service, which works reasonably well - monitoring & reporting.

To repeat DarthBerry - what are you looking to accomplish?

One of the biggest things I am trying to find is a way for users to reset their password before reaching the 5th attempt (that is when we wipe the device).

Thanks,

Dan

Boxtone, ZenPrise and Conceivium all make great products but are quite expensive. Have you tried right clicking the user in BES Mgr and selecting "Set PW and Lock handheld?" You could set a new password and have them unlock the device. This will not work if Content Protection is used on your devices.

This will work if Content Protection is on the device provided the device has OS 4.2.1 or higher. Tested and verified by yours truly. (And a few calls to Tx2 support)
BlackBerry Search Results

But for the original poster, you can't make users remember their passwords, but you can reset them.

I will have to try it then and test it. I thought the devices had to be 4.5+ and was to be a new feature in BES 5.0.

I definitely know that there will be more options via BES 5.0 based on the tech seminar yesterday. From this doc, it states that BES 4.1 SP5 allowed you to do it without the user knowing the previous password. But I know I've been able to do it as well with some of my users and we just upgrade to 4.1 SP6 2 weeks ago.

BerryStats has a self-service portal that will allow a user to reset their device password.

Free (but you can *cough* donate *cough*)
