Re: Desktop Manager will not connect/detect my BB
Please Login to Remove!
Sorry if off topic . I just got a new HP laptop and want to install BB Desktop manager ver 6.1.0 on it to sync my Bold 9650 Sprint version .
This is the closest version DM I could find , to the one I have on my Vista laptop DM VER 6.1.0.35 Bundle 34 ,and hope it is compatible
with Win 7 64 bit plus I am running OS 5.0 on my Bold .
I have heard bad things about BB desktop manager 7.0 and Win 7.0 so I am avoiding updating my old DELL to that version , plus I dont think it is compatible with OS 5.
The DM that I found and downloaded from Softronics is BB Dtop software 6.1.0 without the 135
If wrong place please direct me to the correct thread
Thanks

Re: Desktop Manager will not connect/detect my BB
I am trying to upgrade my BB 9700 and every time, whether I try to use the Desktop Software or just the App Loader, it always freezes for over 2 hours at the "connect to ROM" stage. Any suggestions? I've tried to do the quick "no pin" deal, but each time it finds my pin and never shows "no pin".....any help would be much appreciated. thanks

Re: Desktop Manager will not connect/detect my BB
The problem appears since I updated some drivers on my Thinkpad X230T. Since updating the X230T drivers, I get the following dialog when starting the BB Desktop Software Version 7.1.0.41 (Bundle 42, 2013-03-07):
"Please wait while Windows configures BlackBerry Desktop Software"
Previously the BB Desktop Software was working fine, and synchronizing wtih Outlook 2013 under Win 7 Pro x64. The symptoms are as follows:
My BB Torch 9800 is recognized by Windows, i.e. when I connect it I am prompted (presumably by BB Device Manager) for its password.
However, Desktop never shows the device as connected, so I can no longer synchronize.
Rebooting and reconnecting the BB 9800 doesn't help, nor does uninstalling/reinstalling the BB driver.
Normally I would repair or reinstall the BB Desktop Software, but I am unable to do so.
If I try to repair, I get: Error 1723, with some nonsense about a damaged DLL.
However, I get the same error, even if I run a freshly downloaded copy of the installation software "as Administrator".
If I try to uninstall, I get:
Error 2738. Could not access VBScript run time for custom action.
BB Desktop Software shows the following installation information:
BB Device Manager 6.0.0.69
BBDevMgr 4.2.0
RIM USB Driver 4.2.0.19
RIM USB Serial Driver 2.3.0.11
PlayBook RNDIS Driver Interface 1.0.0.45
Application Loader 7.1.0.48
I previously had similar problems with repairing or uninstalling this version of Desktop Software under Windows XP.
Any further advice would be welcome.

You need to make your own thread and not post in textspeak.

Re: Desktop Manager will not connect/detect my BB
JUST TRY THIS STEPS AND YOU'RE GOOD TO GO.
Good thing is, if you have your data stored on Sim, you won't lose any and all would be automatically restored.
I've tried this and my BB is back.
Let me know if this is helpful.
[*]Remove the battery from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone.[*]Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer using a USB cable.[*]In the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader.[*]Click Start under the Update Software heading.[*]The Device Password dialog appears. If the BlackBerry smartphone is password enabled, enter the password. If the BlackBerry smartphone does not have a password, leave this field empty.[*]Click OK.[*]If prompted with a list of Available Updates, choose the latest software version by selecting the corresponding check box and then click Next.[*]Click the Settings button under the Device backup and restore options.[*]Make sure that the Back up device data automatically during the installation process check box is not selected.[*]Make sure that the Delete all application data and Erase all currently installed applications check boxes are both selected.[*]Click OK on the Settings dialog.[*]Insert the battery into the back of the BlackBerry smartphone.[*]In the Application Loader wizard, click Next to proceed with the loading process.[*]When the process is complete, the Application Loader wizard displays the following message: The loading operation was successful.[*]Insert the memory card, if applicable.[*]Close the Application Loader wizard.

Re: Desktop Manager will not connect/detect my BB
Very important information about the cable you use. I have found that the cables with the changeable heads will not work with a computer USB for anything except charging the battery.
