Default How many of you use OS's from a different carrier/beta?

Please Login to Remove!

I was curious if any of you guys out there use any Device OS' that weren't issued from you carrier or "Beta" OS's...

I've for a mixture of 8830s and 8330s and the 8830 want 4.5 but there is no official release anywhere.

Considering the beta's are suppose to be kind of hush hush I assume it would be bad practice to install them in an enterprise enviroment...??

I did a few with 4.5.0.55 on AT&T with no issues, but AT&T released 4.5.0.110 now.

I rarely use the official AT&T OS since there always seems to be a better version out there.

I am with DarthBBerry on this one. I have a mix of networks and therefore devices, but the OS I load is always one officially released by the appropriate carrier.
No betas on work devices, even my own.

I ran the beta of 4.5 on my work device when it was coming out because I wanted to really look at it to decide whether or not I wanted to go through the trouble of having our 40 BB users upgrade from 4.2 to 4.5 right away, or just do it slowly over time.

Now I don't run betas, but if an officially released version comes out for my 8330 on a different carrier I usually still install it. I've never noticed a difference.

Same here,
Never touch Beta's, however always happy to install the latest version of the O/S, no matter which network is suppliying it.

I run betas when I can get to a PC to upgrade since I'm a silly Mac user.

Beta's are out of the question for work BB's but I install them on my Storm whenever a new one is available.

i pretty much police my bes and only allow code that was released by that carrier. especially for beta, like people have said its beta for a reason. who knows if it has a bug that somehow explodes the bes its on.
