Question New AD Users not showing.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have setup a new BES 5 alongside our BES 4.1.6 server. I've added some new users (with existing AD accounts) and migrated 40 or so users with the migration tool. Everything works fine.

I have now come to add a new AD user and the user name does not appear in the list. The user was created 3 or 4 days ago and appears in the GAL (Exchange 2003) and the OAB.

Also, (which I think may be related), when I try to go into components - email, the web page hangs. I have tried a reboot, but it's still the same.

Any idea's ?

Thanks

Phil

in Bes 5.0, if you click on the Blue "+" sign "Add user from company directory" and enter the email adress of the user.
Does it show up then ?

Hi,

I don't have that option. Only create user or manage users.
I am using MR2, if that makes a difference.

I use the same Version.
First, click create,
in the following page the
Blue "+" sign "Add user from company directory"

is listed on the lower left of the window

Sorry mate, I must be blind.....but there's no option for that :(

I expand User in the Blackberry solution management frame on the LHS. Then click in Create a user... then the RHS side changes to Search messaging users. Name - Email address (neither work) and sort criteria.

No option for Add user from company directory....

Nope. cancel is on the LHS of the RHS frame. No refresh. Search and clear on the LHS, but nothing looking like that.....

At least I know where to look...but no, it's definately not there. Both the refresh and add are missing. Just a cancel button.

I obviously have a bigger problem than just not being able to add users.

Ok, guru people, any idea's where to start (please don't say reinstall, there's too many working users on there now )....

OK folks. In case anyone else searches for this and finds this thread.

I raised a support call with RIM and they said that there is a problem with the database, apparently some tables missing, due to creating the DB with the CREATEDB.exe and not allowing the install routine to do it. It's a known problem that with the developer team.

I'll edit this message when I get feedback from the support escalation process.

Hi folks. Everythings fixed. Missing web page links have re-appeared and the new users are now found.

BB sent me an unpdated CreateDB.exe and details of how to change the config file to update the DB schema.

This is known bug in the createDB.exe distributed with the BES 5.0 install package.

I thought I was going bonkers. I have this exact same problem, but it's on a fresh new install. Well it was fresh until another admin decided to use this server to frig around with and installed another databse instance.

Re-installing SQL and BES 5.
