Trying to find out if there is a way to whitelist applications that I am unable to push out from BES 5.0. I am unable to find the right files to push applications out from the BES and I am getting requests for applications. We do not want to let the user go and download any app they like.

I have not seen one but is there a type 3rd party software that will allow us to make a list of the apps we want to allow and let them download them.

Is there a way to take the OTA files and convert them to the appropriate files to be pushed out by BES 5.0 (.cod and .alx).

I would be interested in this too. What is the 3rd party app you mentioned please?
We routinely get requests for arbitrary apps which users "can't live without", such as metro/underground live feeds etc, and I can't find the files to install the package on the BES to push it out. Hence, we've gone the ugly route of disallowing app installs via IT Policy and then changing IT policy for people who need these apps installed. Very ugly indeed.
