Default UPDATED: Vaja Case Review with Pics

Please Login to Remove!

I recieved my Vaja case, and I have to tell you I am impressed. This is my 10th Vaja case to date and the nicest one I have seen. It makes the 7100 feel MUCH more solid in my larger hands and makes me a lot more comfortable typing.

Earpiece volume was not effected at al (something I was concerned about). Ring volume was not effected either, but I have been using a full leather holster that covers the speaker anyway (the one from ebay).

Here are some pics:

This is a comparison of the 7100t with and without the Vaja Case. It's definetly larger, but not so much that it's rediculous (like a Treo)- just enough to make it solid.

Here are a few with the Vaja in my hand:

And here is an upclose to show you the case quality and fit:

Obviously the case doesn't support the sleep function, but I cannot comment quite yet on how the will effect batter life. I often carry it in my suit pocket though and am use to turning it off manually and locking the keyboard.

All the buttons and the sync cable port is exposes and easily accessible.

Personally I am very impressed, but will post back after I have ised it for a few days.

I also bought the new Pro Clip connector that supports this type of case and will let you know how that goes after some use.

I have had several Vaja cases which were beautiful.

However, I have never bought anything else from Argentina or Spain and ever since have had a lot of spam in Spanish.

Draw your own conclusions.

I've bought quite a few cases from them and don't really get any spam in spanish...

question for the vaja owners....
i notice it is leather or whatever, is the material soft enough that it will slide right out of your pant pocket if you were wearing semi-tight pants. Meaning does it cause a lot of friction with cloth. because i want to get one that has no clip so i wanna stick it in my pocket, but some cases ive had they caused a lot of friction so by the time i pulled it out it was over *;)*

I suppose it would depend on teh pants- I would say it's a happy medium. The leather does have a grain to it, but it's a high quality leather so it is slicker that cheap shit is. That probably doesnt help much.

Here is a quick update after some use:

The lack of the sleep function does not appear to have effected battery life for me at all. The phone sleeps on it's own after a few seconds, and the buttons are recessed enough in the case that it doesn't come on very easily without it being on purpose. I have had no problem with accidentaly calling someone that was on the speed dial (I thought I would).

The external screen protector is great, even though I have to clean it every so often. I wouldn't be happy if it werent there (as I have heard rumors about it being removed). The build quality is GREAT. Top notch, no problems. I have been pretty rough with it and there are no scratches or nicks or anything. It works great.

The only slight complaint I would have it that is has taken some adaptation to type with it. The buttons are recessed in the case, so you have to go at the buttons on the edge at less of an angle and more directly. I would have been nice to have it taper off at the edge and come flush with the front of the phone near the buttons to avoid this, but all in all it is a top notch case.

Overall, I am reccomending this case to EVERYONE I know with a 7100.

Has anyone used this case with a 7100g? Curious if it will fit. This seems
to be the best case I found for the 7100 so far.

If you get the case with the knob for the belt clip, is the little knob removable? It would be nice if it were. Sometimes I want to carry it in my pocket, in which case the little knob is annoying, and others I want the belt clip, in which case the knob is a necessity.

Since the clip isn't in the middle of the phone, will it allow the phone to sit horizontally on the belt? I feel like a loser with my 7100 clipped vertically onto my belt.

Talking Vaja Wassaup?

I cant agree that the case is the best I've ever purchased but I can say that it is the most stylish.

Mine is green and purple (pictured to the left) and I had the laser engraving on the back too. While I have noticed a reduction in volume it doesnt matter to me because I use the Jabra BT250.

The clip lost its ability to keep the phone attached to it. The little black retractable nub that fits inside the round steel hub seems to have worn down after only two months. Nora at Vaja customer service was very nice and will send one to me as a replacement.

I'm actually considering the neoprene style from Blackberry.net as my beater case.

Ciao everyone!
