On paper, it's a good idea, but when it comes to the final product... YEGODS is it ugly!

On that note, I'll keep looking for a different option.

Good product for me to holster my BB with my duty gear.
Gotta hold on and protect the BB when chasing the bad guys!!!
I can't see the behind the desk BB users with the "rugged look."
When I'm in my suit, I like to use the OEM case...i kno, i kno...I need to upgrade the holder...

Heh... didn't realize there were other LE on here! I have been searching for a good leather case for the 8700c that will fit my duty gear (basketweave leather 2 1/4 inch belt) and have had no luck. Nothing seems like it will work (that offers the magnet option). I would like a rugged leather option with a full top-flap for rain protection (even if minimal at best).

Ho hum... still looking!

Thanks for the pointers, but the Ripoffs won't work for me. I don't carry my BlackBerry when on tactical ops, and I can't wear nylon when on patrol. I'm checking on a custom option through Sunrise, but I don't yet know if they will be able to make something that will work. The snag is both fitting the case to my duty belt and the "sleeper" magnet.

At first, I was all ready to purchase one. I even spoke with the owner (I think it was the owner) by telephone while she was driving to visit someone at the hospital. That was an awkward phone call, but that's another story.

She told me that the only way to make their case work was to purchase a leather strap accessory that connects the case to my duty belt. That's fine. What I am concerned about, however, is reading in another post on this Site that the case will rub away the text on the keys, because it is that tight.

If that isn't true, then this would be the best option for me, and I'll purchase immediately.

Any comments?

U might have to cut out a crater in the case and super glue a small magnet in the holster...my LT had to...

try the large tape recorder holder from Uncle Mike's

Get yourself a magnet from an arts and craft store about the size of a dime, they sell them in rolls of about 20 for 2 bucks (do not use the type you stick on the refrigerator (thing plasticky kinds) and tape it using electrical tapy (i Had a black case) on the outside of the case. The magnet will be strong enough to go through the leather and it keeps the BB safe from scratches and you are also not ruining the case you just spend a lot of money to buy.
