I wonder if anyone can help, i've had my curve 8900 for about 6 months. It working fine untill today!
It froze, and i took the battery out to restart it and when I turnt it back on my buttons wern't working. I managed to enter my sim pin after attemping a few times, but then the letters H and L started appearing on my screen when I hadnt pressed those bottons... I cant seem to press any other buttons...

Anyone have any suggestions?

You could check that the H and L button are not stuck down (by working them a little)

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Have you ever taken it near hot/warn water, a stove while boiling water, mist, fog, anything? It sounds like water damage

Leaving it in a cold and frosty car or even a humid one, muggy weather, sweaty palms/pockets, there are so many ways for a BlackBerry to inadvertantly get moist and cause key issues.

What colour are your moisture indicators?

Thank you for all your advise,, I've checked the buttons H and L and they are not stuck... I have used to for listening to music to whilst in the shower that could have done it?

I've put the phone back on and it was working for a couple mins and then just stopped again.

Take off the battery cover and remove the battery. Water indicators are there.

The water damage indicator does not need to be red for the symptoms you mention, it can be lily white and still have the moisture damage.

Give it 4-5 days in the box of rice, battery out.

This might be moisture related. I used to listen to music while taking a shower with my 8310 and the steam killed the keyboard. I've been told that sweating while doing exercise and having the phone in your pocket can cause issues like this too. Luckily, mine was replaced free of charge as I was still under warranty.

Deana, you're welcome. Many of us have come to gain a second sense about those kind of keyboard problems. Glad you were successful.
