Newer 7280's has metal bezel.

I bet it's the same on the 7290 as the newer 7280's.

You have an older 7280, like I do. :D

I sure hope so, RIM must have learned something from the original BB 7280...

Or perhaps they have simply got more options as far as hardware and have updated their devices accordingly.

Hopefully they'll learn something about the crappy plastic holsters that scratch up the casing for future models..

Does anyone have a recommendation on a good rugged, easy to use replacement for the above described plastic holsters?

There's been a couple of links floating around, you could search for it. But there's a taller leather one I see all the time around here that doesn't scratch up the casing and protects the BB from falling out a lot better.

new 7280's have the metal bezel, instead of painted silver on plastic. I recieved a new BB last week (for a coworker) and i like it..

i need to wait for myunit to become defective under warranty until i can get one. =)

Maybe, we should all just send them in.. but wait, it's just a stupid aesthetic thing. When they upgrade 7280's to 32 megs (like when 6710's were upgraded to 16 mb) i'll have a good reason to do it =)

I have a 7290 in front of me. It appears to have a metal bezel. I'm guessing aluminum w/ some sort of coating. The word BLACKBERRY is in raised letters.

the " bezel " is the silver metal or grey plastic piece that goes around the screen.
