Default 8700g Leather Case

Please Login to Remove!

Having ruled out buying a Vaja case for my 8700g (O2 UK), and having been extremely disappointed with the fit of the Piel Frama case 'cos the device just doesn't fit it, I now need to buy a leather, flip over case to protect / carry my 8700g.

Can anyone recommend one that the 8700g actually fits into? I am very skeptical about onces which claim to be universal (like the Krussell) because it is now obvious to me that the 8700g is different to the 8700c!

Dude, check out the Tuff-As-Nuts guys from New Zealand. You'll want to start with model 201. You can add a flap, pocket, loop, etc. These guys have the leather case for the 8700 all figured out. Very nice stuff. Type in Tuff-As-Nuts into Google and you'll see where to go.

I would also take a look at http://www.fortte.com They have cases that they can custom build specifically for your needs. I have ordered 3 cases from them already (received one and waiting for 2 more) and the cases are built to my exact specifications.

I would buy a Fortte in a heartbeat if they offered a clip option like Krusell. I use the very thin fixed clip but I am unhappy with the fit of my case on the 8700g.

i would definitely buy one if they had a clip like the OEM Blackberry case. I think Fortte got excellent cases but not the greatest clips.

For those of you who don't like the clip of the fortte cases, you do have the option to get the case without the clip. I've had two fortte cases and I highly recommend them. When I purchased mine, they weren't even offering a discount to BlackBerry Forums users. Yet, the gentleman I spoke with told me that he noticed that a lot of users had been on their site buying cases. I received my case fast.

I'd go with Covertec. If they supplied the Computer Backpack for NASA.. heck, their product is most reliable and with good quality. I owned the Covertec for my 7520 and for me it is the best holster outside OEM.

Ordered mine today and can't wait to receive them.

I'm sure they're good cases and have received decent reviews. I WANT a clip but like one that doesn't twirl or do other stuff. Just a thin clip that hold the phone next to my beltline.

I've owned 2 Krussel Classic cases but they don't make on for the 8700 so I settled for their flipcase.

Love the clip but don't love the fact that they market them for all 8700's and name the g, but the case is clearly designed to fit the c.

I'll stick with it until I find somthing that suits me better.

Dave,
I'm in the UK, I just bought the RIM Blackberry 8700 leather swivel case.
It has a magnetic closing flip cover, swivels on a pretty decent belt clip and seems well made.
I got it from Expansys, £12 plus vat and postage.

Thanks Mike! I ordered a Fortte leather glove-fit case and I am quite happy with it. Mind you, with shipping from the USA it cost a whole lot more than twelve quid!

Thanks again,

I can't post links yet; however, Burberry makes an awesome (although pricey) case for the 8700g.

see burberryusaonline.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2231813&cp=2119969.2124984&cli ckid=topnav_accessories_9&parentPage=family

You'll have to add the www
