agreed. but what does that have to do with my comment. great guy or AT&T employee has nothing to do with what i was saying. the statement : official 8310 launch Oct. 11th is incorrect. unless its a secret nobody can buy or see it or know about type launch .

p.s. please take what i'm saying with some level of humor . after all , this is just about a blackberry ... not really a life and death situation .

Humor acknowledged! That was copied from an internal email to all employees.

I know this is old news but this is from internal email about what is happening
Forgive me - what does "COR" stand for? And what exactly is an "Agent"?

And thanks for the update!
COR=company owned rertail att owns it

Agent would be something like radio shack

One thing to consider in this whole "buy now, swap later scenario" is that ATT has a 30 day return policy. They do not state why or why not a phone can be returned. When I bought the 8300 I made it perfectly clear what my intentions were, and they (more than one person was helping me) did not hesitate to point out the return policy would allow it. Imagine the level of problems it makes if there is no return policy, and the new version is released the next day.

Hey ya do what you have to! 30 day policy is great and works very well do keep in mind though that you only get one buyers remorse exchange!

I would do it if necessary!

ezrunner, agreed! The exchange is the least they can do for the mess up I had with service. Although a bit off topic, the rep typed in the wrong SS# which did not allow certain billing options to be available and has required me to spend several hours trying to get the problem straightened out. Everyone in the store was amazed that the application was actually approved. It is still not fixed and may still require me to go back to the store to completely return and re-purchase the phone. The rep guaranteed me that even if I am outside of my 30 days he will make sure I get my 8310.

Well, I think I'm going to hold out till Tuesday to see what happens.

The other thing that prevents me from running out and getting one today is getting it all set up and then having to swap it out and start all over again (not sure how big an issue that is though).

Default Newbie Question on Swapping

I have been waiting (like all) all week to get the 8310 as I am able to upgrade to the Curve from my 8700c and want to do it ASAP. My question is - if you setup the BB on a BES and then decide to return it, is it foolproof that if I wipe the hand held that ALL information and emails on the BB are erased and safe? I just do not want to get an 8300, activate it on my BES and then once the 8310 comes out I know I will want to return if within 30 days if there is a chance email/info is not totally erased. Any others been through this and can share stories of it working fine? If so, I will go out (finally) and get an 8300 for the time being as I want it ;)

Thanks

Interesting that they're making it out to CA. Maybe I'll have to try on Monday to find a store that will sell one outright...if they have the red one's in stock

Get it noted in the acct! Besides wrong social means invalid contract! Talk to the manager they can authorize beyond 30 day exchange depending on circumstances

Still a week & a half before I can upgrade. Hopefully they'll have what I want by then.

Let me guess. You're willing to let it go for a "reasonable" price? Like $899?

I think I'll wait for my $179 8310 on Tuesday.
