Works just fine for me. I get 200+ kbps download rates.

I want to thank you for this link. I just bought my Pearl Saturday and really wanted to transfer my contacts to it from Address Book. I just transferred 1203 contacts just fine. The calendar items seem to duplicate some items. It will even transfer copies of emails I send from my Pearl to the sent box of of Apple Mail. I really like the software so far!

I cant even get the software to install. I get a few errors while installing but I can skip through them. After I restart my computer after the install pocketmac is no where to be found on my computer. Anything I could be doing wrong?

Edit: I redownloaded the software and it seems to be working fine.

Well..pretty good..better than I expected. 8700g with iMac CoreDuo 2Ghz w/ 10.4.7.

I only chose to sync Addy's and Calendar and Overwrite device. I also installed the Bookmark Manager and that worked! Pretty cool feature

1. Addresses went into Home without having to say put them into Work. That's good.

2. All phone numbers (that I've checked) came across excpet for one problem child which has never worked. All others so far did.. That's good.

3. Calendar came across pretty good. Only one weird entry so far.

For a quick test of whether it can overwrite the device accurately..I give it a 95%. Not bad. I will get my Calendar and Addy backed up and do a sync test this weekend to see if that works.

Overall, I'm impressed that it functioned as well as it did given 3.x's record. Hopefully, it continues to work well.

Hello!

We are doing a limited beta test to have users try out the latest build of
PocketMac for BlackBerry, version 4, release candidate. The folks at RIM
asked us to find good candidates for this test. And that sounds like you!

This software supports the newest BlackBerry devices (8700 and 8100 Pearl),
and we would like to see how it performs in your system.

We¹re looking to have users test it in a variety of Macs, from PowerPCs to
Intel machines.

Just click on the following link to download the program file.

pocketmac.net/private/beta/PocketMacForBlackBerry4.dmg

When you install it, make sure to drag the user manual from the installer
onto your desktop for later reference.

If you would be so kind, would you drop us an email with your comments,
feedback and test results to us as soon as humanly possible to the following
email address:

[email address]

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide!

Have a great day!

Hey man, thanks for doing this. I was thinking about posting a plea for a group letter offering us, (Mac faithfull on this forum,) all up for a Mac beta program, (great minds think a like!)

I am counting the days till they release the 8703e for Sprint. Now at least I have some hope that I can preform some type of an initial sync at least once to get my contacts into the BB.

I'm running a G5 dual processor. I also have a PowerBook G4. I'm going to borrow an Intel Mac mini if needed for the BB desktop software but all I really want to do is sync my new BB for contacts, calendar, and email.

Again, thanks for getting us all in the door. Really appreciate it.

I seem to have managed to fix the "skipping" error after re-starting the Mac and the 8100. Contacts and tasks synced well. But now I'm having a problem with the iCal sync hanging while endlessly writing the following in the log:

[12:36:39.216] Bad week number may result in data transfer errors.
[12:36:39.219] Bad week number may result in data transfer errors.

Hmmm. Also, strangely, Cmd-W in the log viewer window, rather than closing the window enlarges it to the full screen size.

The only problem I have and I am emailing them about this, is when I sync to Entourage contacts, it duplicates the address in the home and work field only on the computer.

FYI for people having trouble installing the app make sure all other apps are closed... when I installed PM had trouble closing firefox all the way so it errored out. If you are having trouble with your computer recognizing the BB try a different USB port. On my PowerBook G4 I tried the one on the left and it didn't work switched to the one on the right and it picked it right up. If you are having trouble syncing try closing any apps that you are syncing i had problems syncing until i realised the address book and stickies where still open once I closed them it went along really quick.

If you find a bug shoot the people at PM an email. Hopefully the final version will be even better.

Works great here, 1.42Ghz Mac mini G4 1 gig of ram. Only thing not working is the bookmark syncing. Overall I'm satisfied.

Thanks for the link - Perfect timing - Got my 8100 yesterday, and now it's all sync'd.

Only problem I had was that it was just hanging while syncing. Then I turned off the Notes sync, since I didn't have any Stickies to sync. Once I did that it went right through!

Looks good so far. The only thing i'm bummed about is still no OS loader and no caller id picture sync. The picture thing is pretty trivial but it would still be nice.
