I've heard that OWA accounts through bis are one way synch JUST like gmail... Does that mean they get instant push as well?

OWA stands for Outlook Web Access. OWA exposes another "interface" to an Exchange email server in addtion to POP3 and IMAP4.

The main purpose of this interface is for web access to Outlook.

MS Outlook can be configured to use this OWA interface using only HTTPS, and you have all the functionality of MS-Outlook (including getting instant notification of emails).

So it is theoretically possible for BIS to use OWA to provide a very tight interface with a real-time push. Don't know if they have done that. I have access to a OWA/HTTPS interface at my work email. I tried it right after BIS 2.0 came out, and it seemed the same as IMAP. When I have time I'll try it again.

IM on a hosted BES right now and just looking to save some dough, I figure if Gmail can do it, so can exchange... as I really not sure if I set up reply to address on my gmail account, that when I reply from my BB i'll get the address want (not my gmail address)

Gmail is instant delivery as is Yahoo (except w/ Cingular)
only mail connector is instant as well - so the answer is no; your OWA account will poll ever 15 mins

but it is one way sync

Google/Y! are the only ones that do push like BES. But I'm not sure what any of this has to do with IMAP....
