Arrow New App: AppLock - password protect specfic apps, messages & folders.

Please Login to Remove!

Dear All,
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new project - AppLock.

AppLock allows you to password protect specific applications and important folders on your device without locking down the entire device. For ex, you can have your kids / family use the device for Phone and Internet Browsing without worrying about your sensitive documents being accidentally Deleted! You can loan your device to work-colleagues for a quick call without worrying about them reading or viewing your mails or media folder.

For screenshots & trial download please visit www.getempower.com or BlackBerryApps.com store.

Thanks,
Ani.

Love the idea. Will have to try this out. Great work!

Side question: Are there any computer apps that will do this sort of thing?

Arrow New Version 1.1 of AppLock Released!

Dear All,
We have a new version 1.1 of AppLock. The new version includes a new Menu called 'Show ALL' which will show you a list of ALL apps installed on your device and gives you an option to allow/disallow them.

Please install the latest version OTA from www.getempower.com/ota/

So for those who are unable to see BBM in their list, you can now add BBM using Show ALL apps and allow it.

Thanks,
Ani.

Ani, what if I bought it, and I don't have a data plan so I can't download the new version over the air? Is there a link to where I can upgrade it?

Wirelessly posted

I just gave this a whirl and in all honesty I couldn't see where you could actually do anything without the paid version. Being a beta how is one supposed to test without access?

Simply visit the Empower website Empower HTML Email Viewer, Blackberry Threaded SMS and more on your computer and download the app. Now, install it on your device using your Desktop Manager.

Its the OTA link - www.getempower.com/ota You need to visit it using the BlackBerry Browser. In case this happens even with your BlackBerry Browser, it means the browser is incorrectly setup. Goto Browser > Options > General Configuration > Emulation mode (Identify As) > and set it to BlackBerry.
