Default It's dead

I just got a new BlackBerry Bold 9700 from Bell a couple of days ago, amazing phone. Anyway, lastnight I was walking home in the rain.. A long walk, it was hail, I was drenched. I put my phone in my pocket but against my leg with my wallet on the other side.. Thought it wouldn't get wet.

Well it didn't really, the water damage stickers are white as snow. There was a little drop or two inside where the battery goes, that was it for moisture and the front of the phone was pretty wet from when I slid it outta my pocket.

So.. During the walk I had 2 bars battery left, it was a 1hr walk, and it died during the walk....... Now it won't turn on, or when I plug it in the red light doesn't come on or anything.. It's dead.

Anyone got any ideas? The bell store and tech support are closed today. And I want to try to revive it, or at-least get my contacts off it before I swap it... I just got some numbers lastnight, aha.

Anyways... Thanks guys, any suggestiosn are really appreciated! It's sitting with the battery and cover out, and I'm gonna try that for a few hours.

I tried lot's of different things though, with the battery and sim

maybe the battery is dead from the water
or the battery slots ( little bar matels on the fone)
try it with another battery and see if its work
the phone cant be all dead cuz of lil drops of waters
sometimes the AC's inside get ruined from water and replaceing them by a tech wud fix the problem

so i dont think its all dead

I don't have any other batterys for it but I'll try wiping them.

I called Bell, they said it's DOA.. Dead on Arrival, and to take it into the store and they'll replace it on the spot without using my insurance (Because there stickers aren't indicating water damage).

But is there ANYWAY to boot up or do something to swipe the contacts, videos and pictures off the phone?!

Lately, whenever I have a bad dream, for some reason, it always involves my phone getting wet.

My 9700 is on the table and a cup falls over and spills it's liquid on it. Strange no?

Try plugging the blackberry into power with the battery removed, waiting like 15 seconds and then inserting the battery. If there is enough juice in the battery the BB should power on, if not it will attempt to charge the battery and then power on when there is enough life.
Such a small amount of water "shouldnt" have fried the device. But I have noticed that the battery meter is pretty inconsistant on the 9700. Mine has gone from 1 or two bars to completely dead, never getting the low battery warning or flashing LED.
