How can you have a new BB "still in the box" but unlocked? I mean, someone had to unlock the thing... Right?

He said it was factory unlocked from RIM won at a corporate event. Which could be true.

It's a scam because after I paid for it he deleted his email as a previous poster mentioned. PayPal dispute placed.

MODS: You seriously need to change the rules for posting. This is the 3rd time it's happened to me. And I avoided a 4th, currently for sale still, just because I recognized the picture sent was the same one I'd seen before. You're letting anyone make fake accounts and sell. It needs to be re-formatted BADLY. Make it like crackberry where you need a picture (your own), 100 posts, and 3 months experience to post a "For Sale" thread. Ridiculous.

I was going to make an offer on this phone but after looking at join date and post count, i decided not to.

Looks like I made the right decision

+1

Something like this needs to be done to protect members. Selling should be a privilege.

It would help cut down on spammers as well.

This forum itself is a privelage to members, they wanted a buy and sell forum so the mods gave them one.

It's always buyer beware online. This is a place just for people to meet and talk, if someone swindles you I'm sorry but it is always "Buyer Beware" when it's online. You are an adult and you can see that who has less than a 100 posts and has been here less than three months, etc.

If you want to buy online and not get scammed, go to a reputable source or find someone on Craigs List to meet in person.

I personally would never have bought off someone who had five posts and had been here a month. That was your decision, live with it.

<2cents>

I agree with everything Noodle22 said above.

However, I also believe that BBF has tried in the past to represent itself with a little more respect and dignity than other forums. Would it hurt to increase the post count / member longevity before allowing WTS threads?

Anyway, regardless of what happens with this thread, everyone should protect themselves as much as possible. As already stated, buying online is forever buyer beware.

So a newly registered member has the same privilege posting in the Buy Sell Trade as a "contributing" member who has "seniority."

I also believe newly registered members can't post up links until they attain a certain amount of posts or days registered?

Truely that was done for a reason. I don't see why similar rules can't be implemented into the Buy Sell Trade section as well.
