Default 9700 shows incorrect call info

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a 9700 running the OS in my profile.

Sometimes, when I get a call, the caller ID shows the number of the previous caller! When I pick up, it changes to the correct ID. This is NOT a network issue, since my SIM card works perfectly in a Nokia 6233 and E63.

It's irritating to say the least, cause you pick up thinking you're talking to your girlfriend, but it's actually your mom, or vice versa

It's also intermittent. Happens maybe 6-10 times a day. Rest of the time, works fine. I've done the usual, battery pull, reset etc. I don't have too many apps, and my apps are just GPS, browser, and some news apps, nothing to do with the phone logs.

Anyone else noticed this?

i know someone with a similar problem. when receiving a call, it will pick a random name from the phone book to display as the caller id. it only happens once every few days though. they are running .442 i hope someone figures out the problem. i am running .442 also and have never experienced the problem

Do you have your contacts on both the SIM card and in your Address book?

I'm also experiencing the same problem.

It's a bug in this OS 442, it wasn't on OS.423

Hope the next OS release will solw this issue.

actually i need to make a correction. my friend who is having this problem is actually running .423 and NOT .442 like i said earlier. now that it has been seen on multiple OS's, i wonder if its a "format" issue similar to the sms bug

I'm wondering if it's not some third party app possibly causing a conflict.

Default Where were you all two weeks ago...

when I posted this problem? http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ller-info.html

Troubleshooted with TMO and in the end they sent me a new phone (out of warranty) with .423. So far haven't seen any caller id issues.

No apps in common.

Hmm two weeks ago, I was reading lots of sci-fi

still, jokes aside, good to know that it's not an app issue... here's hoping that the next OS update fixes this!

I'll join the club with this problem. My sister and I both experience this problem.

Now we answer the phone, wait for it to say connected and show the correct person then say hello

Google sync w/contacts ruined all my contacts. This might be where your problem is?

I went to enable the contacts sync and it proceeded to create duplicates, and then quadruples, and octuplets. Not only did it makes many copies of the same entries but then it decided to merge contacts with each other. So Jane Doe had the number and email address of Joe Blow.

Nope, my contact list is fine. Also, it only shows the incorrect info before I answer. Once I take the call, it suddenly switches to the correct ID

Running .442 and have experienced this issue a couple of times myself. This OS has been extremely stable, and this is the only quirk that I have experienced with it.

Ok, I've upgrade to .536 and haven't had this issue yet. It's only been a day, but I'll update if I see it again.
