Hello, All --

I just got an 8350i Curve with Nextel service (just upgraded from an older Nextel phone). Still working my way through all the functions, but one thing that's a bit of a showstopper is that the phone won't give an audible alert for new voicemails.

From reading various posts here, I understand that BBAlerts will add this functionality to the phone, but seems to be a bit unpredictable as to whether notifications will work depending on which BB it's installed on.

Is anyone running BBAlerts on the 8350i Curve, and successfully getting audible notifications when they get new voicemails? I know BBAlerts does other notifications as well, and notification for new emails would be great, but voicemails are most important.

To get voicemail notifications w/o using BBAlerts you must set up notifications for SMS. Your OS uses SMS notifications to notify of new voicemails. Hope this helps, it worked for me.
