Default Re: how to unlock network

Unlocking a blackberry requires a code to be entered. there are various instructions available on the internet. Blackberry.com information is essentially useless so use one from the internet. The cost for the code is about $2.00 to 12.00 from various company's.
It is extremely important you read and fully understand ALL the instructions. Do not speed or try to skip any required steps. Doing so will permanently lock the phone t the original carrier.
As an example I added the text below. DO NOT attempt this without the unlock code first and look at various sites to insure you understand the process.

To enter the unlock code into an OS 7 BlackBerry Bold (this includes the 9930, 9900, 9790, and 9780), follow these steps:

Insert a SIM card into the device any SIM card is fine
Go to Manage Connections and select Turn Off All Connections Go to Options -> Device Select advanced system settings => and then SIM card
Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
Press and hold the [Alt] button and type MEP2 on your BlackBerry keypad (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEP2)
You will be presented with a prompt to Enter Network MEP Code
Type in your unlock code and press Enter, your phone is now unlocked.

Wonder why I keep repeating warnings? Because most do not follow instructions and fail.
