Hi folks,

My phone is Tour 96xx, not sure which series, and I've been having this problem of small EDGE for almost 2 weeks now. It's not like it's small all the time though, but rather like that it would be able to update the info on my BBM and transmit new BBM messages for about 30 seconds after I switch my phone on or the signal on, but that's all about it because eventually it'd turn into small edge/gprs again. Strangely, I could still chat with Whatsapp the whole time! I've repeatedly done most of the common advices on the net about this including:
-pulling out the battery
-downgrading and (re)upgrading the OS
-registering those numbers on Host Routing Table (successfully, but to no avail for this)
-asking the CS of my previous operator
-switching my SIM card
-switching my operator (from XL in Indonesia to Vodafone in Germany since I was about to move to the latter anyway)

Most of them would give a relief, if any, for the next 1-2 hours but that's all about it. Am desperate now and hope for a new insight here.

service level depends on the radio seeing the cell tower and how good. If your in one place and it wont go to upper case EDGE and other phones do then the radio may have issues and repair is needed. Other than an OS update not much you can do and electronics repair may not be cost effective.
