Default CONTACTS: How to DISABLE Linking to.....

Please Login to Remove!

Good Day Everyone.

I've had issues in the past regarding synchronizing my Outlook Contacts with my BBZ10. I've posted questions elsewhere on BBForums, and combined with those answers and some work on my own, I've pretty much solved my problems, though there are still a few things that aren't what I'd like them to be.

One of those problematic issues I'm having is what appears to be an automatic default linking of my Outlook Contacts with other accounts, particularly Facebook. This was immediately evident when I installed Facebook on my Z10. When I did so, most all of the photos that I had loaded for each contact in Outlook on my computer were replaced on my Z10 with those contacts' profile photos from Facebook! Huh? I did NOT choose this to be so, and I do NOT like it! What's more, it doesn't seem to be just photos that are being replaced, but in some cases, critical phone numbers and such are being replaced or additional phone numbers are being added, especially phone numbers and e-mail addresses for several different people who also happen to work for the same company or belong to a common organization.

BTW: I determined that this difference in info between my Outlook data and Facebook contact data was responsible for my past inability to sync my contacts to my Z10.

I note that when a specific contact is opened on the Z10, there is a "Links" icon at the bottom of the screen. For those contacts that have a photo from Facebook showing, clicking on the "Links" icon reveals that that particular contact's entry is linked to Facebook. I never did set that to be so, but there it is for many of my contacts. When choosing to "unlink" the contact from Facebook, things return to the way I want them to be (using only my Outlook data).

The link to Facebook can be un-linked, which raises the question....

Can all of my contacts be "batch unlinked" from Facebook, or do I have to open each and every contact and do it individually??? If so, that's a major PITA.

Yes, I have tried to disable contact linking to Facebook via "system settings" and other means on the Z10 itself. No luck.

Bottom line: how to I prevent (and reverse) my contacts on my Z10 from linking and using information from Facebook? Is this option automatic/default when FB is installed, and also, if there is an option to change that, does that setting option reside in Outlook, the BB OS, or in the Facebook app?

Thanks for your input!
