Default Storm On Sprint

Please Login to Remove!

Will the Storm ever make it to Sprint? Right now Sprint's line up as far as BB goes is pretty week when you have the monster HTC EVO sitting there!

I don't know if it will. I know the rumor is that Sprint will get the new 9800 Slider towards the end of the year. I hope so. I love BB, but my wife just got the Evo and its very tempting to jump ship after messing with her phone a little.

Sprint had the 9650 before Verizon.
I would call that a "good blackberry phone", wouldn't you?

Wow good for them. And I couldnt tell you, I have not had Sprint for 12+ years but always hear folks on Sprint in here say they never get the newest phones, thus the post

Yes, and they have the HTC EVO which is arguably the best phone on the market right now.

Default Storm like BB on Sprint?

I started my BB relationship with TMO on the 7100t. I have moved to Verizon because of the Storm. Now I'm looking to move to Sprint (mainly because of cost). Sprint service has gotten much better over the last several years (in the areas that I would use the phone 95% of the time).

I've seen some information regarding the Torch possibly making its way to Srpint. However, a Sprint rep told me yesterday that a "Stormlike" BB will be on Sprint by end of 1st quarter next year. Have any of you heard of this phone or is this just Sprint trying to convince me to move since I have the Storm now?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I haven't heard anything, but that doesn't mean it's not coming.

However, reps don't usually know too much about new devices coming that far in advance.

I have Sprint service and love it. Great discounts on my monthly bill, great customer service, but a touch screen BlackBerry has been missing from their lineup. I'd love to try a Storm 2 or something like it, but I'm not willing to part with Sprint for it.

Default 9530 Storm BB

I have an unlocked 9530 bb on simple mobile. I was wondering why I dont have an internet browser and had to download opera mini in which you need a magnifying glass to see what you are typing. Also there is no service books in phone at all and i spoke to Simple Mobile and all they told me was to download the opera mini. Please if some one could help I would appreciate it. Tired of reading threw all the forums and pages.

Welcome to the forums.

First, it isn't good etiquette to hijack a thread.

Second, this isn't related to the thread.

Anyway, you will need a BlackBerry data plan to have the Internet Browser, be able to use BBM, and have service books. I am not sure if Simple Mobile offers BlackBerry data plans or not.

forgive perhaps a question I should know the answer to... are Verizon & Sprint both on the same network CDMA, GSM, iden, whatever? I n other words, could I use an unlocked storm2 on Sprint?
Although prob don't want to, do I? As the processor in the 9650 is faster, correct?

They are both on CDMA, yes. But both Verizon and Sprint have policies that they will not allow any device other than their own on their network. So Verizon will only allow Verizon branded devices on their network and the same for Sprint.

So, to answer your question, you cannot use an unlocked Storm 2 (or any Verizon device) on Sprint.
