Based on that, I can expect my local VZW store to get theirs around Arbor Day.

Got mine on March 28 at noon from Verizon. TH kept his promise of full release of BB10 in the first quarter. The guy has delivered again. He cut it close but did it. Now, when does PB10 make its debut?

You're missing the point.

The name change from RIM to BlackBerry is significant. The company is, under TH, now meeting deadlines.

Not significant at all, and they're not meeting deadlines. This device was supposed to be out almost two years ago. I'm glad it's out now, but it didn't meet any deadlines.

It was RIM back then. Under TH, the company has been meeting deadlines. Sorry that you seem so jaded. No promises made for "PB10" except in a vague way. I'll suppose that I'll get almost as sour as you if we don't see a major PB update by the fall.

One more thing, the name change also signifies a new business model. One that will see the eventual end of BIS and its subscriber fees.

Where are the apps that they mentioned on 30 January? Skype for one. Lost 3mm more subscribers. And the corporate name is still Research in Motion. The symbol changed.

The hype and koolaid are strong within this one.

Love your rudeness.

I would have thought the subscriber issue was pretty damn obvious. Owners of BB10 devices are no longer BB subscribers by definition (unless BES). They no longer subscribe to BIS.

As for Skype? It'll be along when Skype wants it to. It isn't a RIM controlled circumstance.

And, yes, BB has a tough go to regain the clichéd "mindshare" in the US where most phone consumers still have no idea that there is a completely new phone on the market.

Are you making an invalid excuse for the subscriber loss? BlackBerry knows exactly how many people are using their devices. Are you claiming that there are no loses and that they simply can't be counted anymore?

Another excuse for missing apps.

I own a Z10 and am therefore no longer a subscriber to BIS. No BB10 owners will be subscribers. The subscriber base is down and that must be reflected in the quarterly reports by law.

There are losses to be sure in the US. Market share is down. Device launches have gone well in non US markets and massive anti BB sentiment in the US abounds. Going to be tough there. Surely we can agree on something so painfully obvious or are you going to argue that all is well in the US for Blackberry?

BB made it plain that they are exiting the BIS business in due course and I understand their reasoning.

That is the silliest thing I have ever heard.
Are you using BBM? Or BlackBerry Application World?

Then they know you are there.

You are digging the hole deeper and deeper. Stop now.

Yep. BlackBerry ID is how they count subscribers now.

I'm hardly digging holes and your churlishness is charming. The US is a major pain for BB. I suppose you're now going to claim that it's not.

It will be interesting to see what the numbers look like next quarter following the recent launch.

I guess you now have realized that BlackBerry can count the number of customers so you have moved on.

Yes, I am aware that the US is a problem. BlackBerry caused the problem by not recognizing the threat (apps on phones) and denying it. And now they are trying to dig out of their hole. With limited marketing and a 1.0 OS on nice hardware.

So far their efforts have been weak. We'll certainly see what this quarter looks like. It is going to be a long, difficult road.

No, you're digging holes and spouting nonsense.
