Question 8700c sync'ing problems with Bluetooth

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 8700c that I am trying to synch up with Outlook using the desktop manager. I have installed the Bluetooth adapter using the microsoft drivers on my XP laptop. I can pair the laptop with the blackberry, but when I try to enable the desktop manager to use the bluetooth adapter to begin sync'ing, the desktop manager says the Device Not Found. The Bluetooth drivers have assigned COM9 to the device. In the Device Manager, there are two RIM Virtual Serial Ports assigned COM6 and COM7, and a Standard Serial over Bluetooth Link that is assigned COM9. Somewhere, something is not talking to one another, and I cannot figure out what it is.

Any one experience a similar problem or understand what is going on?

Thanks,

andy

Do a search for Bluetooth Sync in the Bluetooth Connections section. You may find your answer.

Maybe someone can confirm, but I THINK (note I did NOT say KNOW) that the Blackberry BlueTooth is restricted to Audio only and will not support data.

The reason being Security (before someone says that's dumb!).

JerryD, it is possible to sync over bluetooth with OS 4.1 and Desktop 4.1 or later. It's not just audio anymore.

Thanks for all of your help. I got it working. You have to right click on the blackberry device manager and enable bluetooth. I failed to do that. Now it is working.
