I am looking for software for field surveys/questionnaires for the Playbook.

I need the usual question configuration and back-end statistical/graphical analysis on the results (standard with web-based survey solutions).

I considered a web-based solution, but I understand that the Playbook requires WiFi access to connect to the internet.

My field reps need a solution that can work when there is no WiFi connection (off-line).

Can someone point me in the right direction to a solution than can work both on and off-line on the Playbook?

I'm not sure there is a solution that will work for you at the moment. The software selection for the PlayBook is fairly devoid of anything but games and cheap software.

Seems like you need a Playbook, a MiFi, and a web based survey service called Survey Monkey which an account may be created for free (they also offer more robust services for a modest monthly fee.

Should be a good start to see if your field staff are able to do the work that is expected.

The requirement was for "a solution that can work when there is no WiFi connection".

Playbook can also use the internet over bluetooth to a Blackberry phone running the Bridge app.

so, by taking along your own WiFi connection with a MiFi device, or by bridging the device to a BB, you are never without a connection, so therefore you can connect to the internets for a survey..

from a security perspective, do you really want your company data going over a public WiFi hotspot where you have no idea who is listening ? you are better to provide your reps with a BB device or MiFi IMO

Thanks for the suggestions.
It looks like the BB Bridge/MiFi supporting a browser connected to SurveyMonkey is the best approach.
Not exactly spontaneous for the field reps, but workable.

Until a web connection comes built into the Playbook...
