Default Hello

Hello, I am new here. I have recently acquired a BB 7130e but it has issues. I am hoping to get it working soon, but I have a question. What functions are usable without service? This just might be the closest thing to a dumb question possible.

Without service, you can use it as an alarm. Hehe. =)

I'm new school, so I wouldn't be of any help with the older blackberry. I do want to say welcome though.
