OP, I think you might want to re-read knotty's post before you get flamed. It's not possible as a native function and has been discussed many times. Please do a search and the (limited) opitons will be revealed.

Seriously mate, check the first line. If this does not answer your OP please state how, as I can't see any other question in there. If you are referring to your general "how syncronisation happens" question, you really are going to have to be more specific than that, plus it has been answered many times already, trust me.

Is this not the answer you were hoping for? It is the correct answer. It is NOT possible out of the box. As suggested a few times, do a search.

perhaps this is some kind of social experiment where he is trying to see how long and patient people will be before they start flaming?

Perhaps. But that wouldn't be wise, unless he is looking for a ban
I think it is more that the OP wants a different answer to the one provided. Problem with that is, my boys have answered correctly. As much as the OP doesn't like the answer, under this release of BES (4.1.x) it's the only one he's gonna get...

There is NO connection between Exchange Public Folders and the BlackBerry handheld. There is no conenction, public folders are not linked to the BB, they will not sync with the BB, there is no conenction.
How do you not understand that from the above answers?
If you think something is telling you to "enable the public folders in 2007 so PIM synchronization work", you should post that info here so we can examine it. Once again, there is NO conenction between the public folders and the blackberry.

I so hope you are wrong knotty but I know it doesn't happen often :->. OP if that's your question, the RIM doc describes exactly why you would need to do it and how to. And it's nothing to do with PF syncing to the BB .

During install on 2007 BES will create a public folder database on the Microsoft Exchange Server and will configure the offline address book.
