Default What is Blip-9?

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first post on here. Someone had posted on here talking about a specific mode on the BlackBerry called blip-9 mode or something like that. Does anyone know what this is? What is does? Thanks.

It was just some jokers talking gibberish.

I would have used some more colourful adjectives than "jokers" and "jibberish", personally.

Flaxor712,

Blip-9 mode or as used in the manual, Bi-Link Protocal 9 Mode, is a mode that allows the blackberry user to link up to their home or office video cassete recorder, better known as a VCR. It is on page G-9 of your manual.

Do I need to upgrade to the latest OS for this? I'd like it to also program my Tivo. And make coffee.

Blip-9 is the protocol that allows you to copy ringtones to your BB without an Internet connection. Hell, it allows you to upload ringtones even if you don't have a BlackBerry.

It is also a new website "search" technology that no one will ever use!

Even with the plug-in? I heard a rumor from my cousin's uncle's brother who once worked at a Radio Shack that with the right combination of duct tape and twist ties it could be made Zen-like compatible. Or just be used as a bug zapper.

That won't be available until April 10th or 17th, and the plug-in will either be black or a dark blue.

Oh great, that will clash with my Blackberry. I suppose I have to buy a special plug-in door to replace the one I have? Probably be back ordered, too.

Blip-9 is the predicessor to Blink-182

A series of Blips and Blinks at bitrates of 9kb/sec and 182kb/sec, respectively, produce overtones which harmonically vibrate at a frequency high enough for an individual to hear in noisy environments. The technology was first lab tested and in it's Beta form was known as Blip-9. The technology was later perfected and introduced for the first time as Blink-182 in the 8700 series Blackberries. The combination of a high-end speaker and Blink-182 technology makes the audible ring of any tone quite clear on the 8700.

...any other questions?

you know, it's REALLY pathetic when you've been banned on multiple accounts already yet you continue to sign up new accounts w/o getting the hint that we don't want you here. and furthermore, you decide to converse with yourself on multiple names on the same topic. wow, that's a nice little low right there.
