Please Login to Remove!
I install it but I can not get it to work.
I get Open Tunnel failure.
I change the TCP settings so it says wap.voicestream.com on my 8100.
I now get a bad DNS error.
But than I can not tether my laptop to my 8100. (I using SanFrancisco method of tethering. http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ght=8100+modem I couldn't find the other "How To" instruction which most people are using.)
So I took out wap.voicestream.com on my phone and now I back to square one. Can anyone help me?
If I need to change my settings to a different way of tethering, please give me the link. I couldn't find it.

I am very interested to test it out. I hope when I can afford the new 8xxx with WIFI and GPS, your program would be able to run on that device too. It is nice to use wifi and VoIP at home.

Also, the chat history shows the time stamps but no date stamps so it is hard to tell when the chat occured...

I agree. I do like JT but the last thing I need is another monthly fee, especially just for IMing.
With so many free programs and RIM close to releasing AIM and already having RIM Yahoo and RIM GoogleTalk, plus I already own IM+, the one time fee hopefully should be low due to all the competition.

Is there a way to disable chat logging?
I know you can delete chat logs but I would rather disable them

Yeah, I will not pay another monthly fee. One time, no problem. I'm being milked by enough subscription and monthly payments. Trying to cut some out currently.

Since no one can solve my problem, I decided to play around with it. I decided to make a post about it just in case someone else have the same problem too.
Since BlackberryForums delete the topic and section about setting up the Blackberry tether to your laptop, I decided to go to the Blackberry web site.
Turns out the instructions there is almost exactly like SanFrancisco way of doing it.
So I decided to try something else. I deleted JiveTalk. I re-download the program and re-install it again. I than type in wap.voicestream.com in the APN settings.
Now the JiveTalk is working and I can still tether my Blackberry 8100 with my laptop.

Any news on an updated version to go live? I really need to fix my current install so I can get into preferences and change the settings. Every time I go in now it gives an "Classjava.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException, null" error.
I also hope you can resolve the buffer and how when responding to IM's and you have many coming in that it doesn't lose so many characters of your response you type. It is my biggest compliant in the app.

time stamp
first--great job on this app, it is smooth, gui is great and solves lots of problems for IM fans.
second--here's my suggestion--can you add the date to the time stamp? i just noticed that if i don't end a chat from a prior day, it shows the message i sent/received with just a time, so it could get confusing as to which day that was sent.
thanks, and great job again!

You were able to get JT to run while tethered??!!
That would be a first we've heard. Usually having another data call in progress will kill the tether connection...

I think I found a bug. AutoConfig does not work for me. If I try, it fails on all attempts.
If I change the advance connection parameters to DEFAULT, it works. Any idea how I'm connecting?

Last night I looked at JiveTalk and it had a message saying that I was logged out of AOL because it wasn't available and would try again in 10 minutes at 9:42.
I never looked at it later to see if it logged me back in. This morning I looked at JiveTalk ad it didn't not have the message, but showed that I was not logged in to AOL (but still logged in to Yahoo).
I tried log in to all, and received a java error message that I was already logged in to AOL.
I had to force shut down and then start JiveTalk again to log back in to AOL.
I haven't had this specific error before, but I would say on average once a day I look at JiveTalk and it shows me logged out of AOL but still logged in to Yahoo. If I then log in to all, about half the time I get a system message from AOL saying I am now logged in from two locations. I only log in to AOL with JiveTalk.
ALso, I am still occasionaly getting resets and the blue bar without any info (like time, signal, etc) when I get a phone call.

Battery Life
I know this was discussed in the past but it still seem to be a problem for me, I was wondering if it holds true for others.
I am running JT 6.0 on a new BlackBerry Pearl (less than 30 days), running OS v. 4.2.1.66 (TIM Release). Anyway, I took my phone off the charger at 8this morning. As of 8 tonight, I have 50% battery life left on my device. This is low when I usually get at least 3 days from my battery.
And yes, the battery saver mode is on in options menu and the idle timeout is 5 min.
Can other users post what they get on their battery life on JT v6?

Message Display
I notice when someone sends a message from aimexpress (browser version of AIM) and they hit enter within the message I get   on JT. Is it possible to either display a space or new-line instead? Its hard to read messages with multiple   displayed.

I certainly wouldn't call this a "feature"...
It's a known bug when we get encoded HTML IM text and strip out the HTML. The bug is in our queue, and should be fixed in an upcoming build.

Does it mean that we are soon have to pay for the JT? We even can't use the beta version anymore?
