One odd problem however is that when it syncs with the desktop there are now 2 "General" groups. One is the correct one with all my passwords, and the other is the blank default when you first start a database. Even if I delete it from the desktop it does not get rid of it on the BB after a sync. And if I try to delete it on the BB I get the following error.
"Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"

LGLG shows the following:
a System - CMMkeepassb b(4044) no sig from 0x33"

This is displayed 5 times (assuming because there are 5 'groups' in the default "General" category)

I had problems with the sync before and never got it to work. With the new beta it seems to work perfect!!

Thank RemyJ! Now I'm really able to use this one!

Works really great. Have entered a lot of entries, partially on the BB and the rest on the PC. Syncs perfect!

One small problem: It seems, that the BB version does not support all icons, which can be used on the PC version. The list of icons on the BB ends at the Apple, where the PC version has 4 more icons (Wikipedia, $, 67 and a mobil phone). This mobil phone icon I used on the PC and it did not sync to the BB of course ... Small problem, though.

Everythings else: Perfect.

I do like it. Keep going on RemyJ!!

RemyJ-

Sorry to put this in the 1.2 thread, but I didn't know if you were still monitoring the old thread. I have a quick question for you.

I am currently using version 1.0.602. It is working perfectly for me, and syncing up with my desktop version flawlessly. I am a firm believer in "if it's not broke, don't fix it" so I was not planning on upgrading.

I was, however, planning on upgrading my BB OS to version 4.5 this weekend, because I want Docs2Go and HTML e-mail. So, my question is this ... is KeePass 1.0.602 compatible with OS version 4.5?

Thank you.

You shouldn't have a problem. I don't remember if I tested that version specifically but I did test some 1.0 and 1.1 versions on OS 4.5 and desktop manager 4.5 and didn't see any issues.

Just remember to make good backups just in case.

Anyone having problems backing up their Blackberry with KeePass 1.2.xxx?

I recently switched to Desktop Manager 4.7, and couldn't back up my BB. Removed KeePass, works like a charm.
Add KeePass (did not perform a sync), works fine.
Perform a Sync, no backup :(

I love the program, and I'm willing to forgo backing up my BB for a while. Heck, I'll even remove KeePass, backup my BB, and then add it back in if I have to.

Just looking to see if there was something I was doing, or some incompatibility with DM 4.7.

Thanks.

I don't think I ever tested with Desktop Manager 4.7. Can you check the log on the phone and see if KeePassBB is reporting any errors during the backup attempt?

Hrm. Very Odd. Automatic backup just worked. So I tried to perform a manual backup, and received this:

RemyJ-

I upgraded to 1.2.948. With one exception, everything appears to be working perfectly. I can view the database, add entries, and sync with desktop. That all works perfectly.

However, when I try to delete an entry from the BB database, I get an "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException."

Any idea what's going wrong?

Edit:

I should add that I'm using an 8100 Pearl, with 4.5.0.99, running Desktop Manager 4.6.

Yeah, it's a bug. It's on my high-priority list.

When you fix it, will I need to update the desktop plug-in as well?

In other words, both the BB version and the desktop plug-in are 1.2.948 right now.

After you fix this bug, let's say the version is now 1.2.950. Can the BB be running 1.2.950 while the desktop plug-in is still 1.2.948? Or, do they have to match?

Thanks.

Looks like I'm not getting forum notifications of new posts again. Sorry for the late reply.

The desktop plugin rarely changes because I try to keep it as simple as possible. If I make changes to it, I'll note it in the change log.

I'm not having any luck synching with my 8830.

I've created a database file on my BB in KeePassBB 1.2.948, changed the default location under options, and am able to access the file on my BB.

On my desktop, I have created a .kdbx file and used it for some time with KeePass 2.06 beta. It is now well populated, but I am constrained to keep some passwords overly simple until I can get them stored on my BB. I have Desktop Manager 4.7, with the KeePass for BB add-in 1.2.948.0 installed (with some trouble -- the install with the .msi failed, but a "repair" got the .dll registered) and pointed to my .kdbx file.

When I synch, Desktop Manager reports "There was an error on the device, probably a bad password. Use <ALT>LGLG on the device to check the log". On my BB, a KeePass for BlackBerry pop-up appears after the synch attempt and displays "Failed to decrypt desktop database... java.lang.RuntimeException: header: Bad database file signature"

This is the same error I get if I tell the Desktop Manager add-in to use some random file rather than my .kdbx file. Is there any way I can confirm that it is using the right file, or are there any other debugging steps I should attempt?

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
Sam
