Has anyone gotten the following error message when trying to load the desktop software? I've tried version 4.1.1 (came with phone) and version 4.2.2 from the website.

"Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files...\GWEMAILCONNApi.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147024770. Contact your support personnel."

I don't have any support personnel, so any help would be much appreciated.

For what it's worth, I found this on the Blackberry website (KB02377):

Problem
You receive the following error when installing the BlackBerry Attachment Service:

Error 1904. Module c:\winnt\system32\msxml3.dll failed to register. HRESULT 2147024770. Contact your support personnel.


Cause
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) parser component is included with the Attachment Service setup program. However, XML does not install correctly on some computers if Microsoft Internet Explorer is not installed or is a version earlier than 5.5.


Resolution
To resolve the issue, do the following:

Click Ignore on the error to continue with the Attachment Service installation.
Download and install Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 from the Microsoft web site.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I'm running IE7 so that can't be the issue. I guess I'll keep searching. Can you call Blackberry support, do you know?

As anyone come up with a resolution for this one? I've tried just about everthing I've read about the 1904 error to no avail. The DLL's involved seem to affect the Intellisync functionality only.

The last time this question came up was in Aug 2007 . I am having the same proglem trying to install 4.2.2v on a 64bit Vista laptop. Has anyone found a solution?
I get the same 1904 error. I ignored the errors until it finished installing, but then it just hangs there. And my laptop slows to a crawl. Only thing I can do is kill it and reboot.

I ignored 5 error messages, bieng the first one related to gwemailconnapi.dll, fixed it with the "repair" option in control panel add-remove software.

I installed Version 4.3.0.15 (Aug 15 2007). I'm running Win XP and Outlook 2007. I have just upgraded to an 8800 from an 8700.

I was using an older desktop manager program and installed the 4.3.0.15 over the top. I did get four errors when installing the desktop manager.

Uninstalling and reinstalling desktop 4.3
Reinstalling outlook 2007
Running regsvr32 atl.dll
Installed Windows installer 3.1
Checked for Microsoft updates

and alot of rebooting...

I can back up OK, but I canxxx8217;t sync. Has anyone got any more ideas on how to fix this problem?

I've been trying to install 4.3 desktop manager and keep getting the same error... I try and ignore it but I can't get any program to install at all on the blackberry (except some OTA installation).

I just got my blackberry. WHen loading 4.2.2 I got this
Error 1904.Module C: (path name) HRESULT: 2147352567

The customer help from ATT said it was my computer problem.

Reloaded my Outlook...

still doesn't work...

I am having the same problems. Tried to install on a desktop with Vista, a desktop and laptop with XP...all 3 got the same result and error messages.

Thanks for trying, but it does not help. The only person who had this problem posted online and solved it, bought a new computer and installed the software.

I can echo everything geshoo says above. I get the same 4 dll's failing to register when installing 4.3 and I've tried all those things.

Can anyone help?

I will be stalking this thread hourly because I'm having the same exact problem (Pearl 8130, DM 4.3) and am losing my MIND trying to fix this (I really really need to be able to sync!). Thanks!

It seems this problem can be caused by an error with registry permissions. I tried all of the other suggested solutions that I could find. Nothing worked for me until I found the following:

Completely uninstall Desktop Manager, click the link below for instructions on how to reset the permissions, then reinstall:
Aaron Stebner's WebLog : Solving setup errors by using the SubInACL tool to repair file and registry permissions

This also fixed Media Manager, which would not open for me.

Note: After completing the repair, my Windows Vista reported that it was low on memory and many programs would not function properly. Not to worry if this happens to you, there is a fix for it. Just search the thread, using the keyword "memory" or "0x8007000e'" (this is the Windows error code).

i have a blackberry 8830 Wold Edition
& im using Blackberry Desktop Mangager 4.3.0.17
& im using Sprint as my service provider

ok so i was having the same problem...
when i first installed the desktop manager it was working fine...
then i had to delete all the contacts from my phone & replace them
with all my contacts in outlook. so i called techsupport to help me
out. so they walked me through clearing all the contacts from my phone
without wiping out the whole phone of all the other settings.
then when we tried to import all my contacts from outlook a message came up
asking if i wanted to accept or reject changes.
i then clicked on the button to view the changes & i didnt like what i saw so i clicked on reject. Next thing you know the program froze!
so i tried closing the program & restarting it... & then came the famous 1904 error!
got like 3 of them.

i was on the phone with tech support for like 2 days.. & the could not figure out what the problem was.. we removed the software .. re installed it .. restarted .. but none of that worked.. i was still getting the errors...

then i tried the solution above

but that did not work either :(

i was about to uninstall the software again & try to reinstall it but then i said let me try to sync one more time...

so i turned on Blackberry Desktop Manager
& got the same 1904 error (like 3 diffrent ones)
i clicked on ignore or ok for all of them & then like before the blackberry managaer window would grey out.. & i could not click on anything..

so what did i do next? what else can we possibly try at this point?

I removed the phone from the usb cable...waited like 10 seconds & an error came up saying that the phone was disconnected...so i connected the phone to the usb cable again & guess what! everything started working again!

there is one more thing that i figured out on my own...
sometimes the software will freeze if you have a
password set on your phone & it locks up before you are done syncing...
& it will not give any errors or anything. it will just freeze!

DO NOT disconnect the phone from the usb cable if this happens...
all you have to do is press on the ball on your blackberry ...
the phone will say "handheld is locked"
Unlock your handheld & you will notice that the Destop Manager will continue to sync!

I hope this helps all of you out there with the same problem.
