Default my berry is holding on to OLD emails - HELP- how do i get rid of them ?

Please Login to Remove!

I have been struggling with this one for months
despite setting my berry to only hold messages for 15 days
it lists a few "months old messages"

when I reboot my inbox looks like its searching my gmail account to look for those old messages - ittakes close to 45 MINUTES For this process to occur and my email is locked .

the rest of berry apps are usable so its only an email problem

I have tried
1) deleting these old messages - hasnt worked
2) deleting gmail account from blackberry and readding - still FOR SOME REASON the berry loads these old messages

any ideas
my only idea is
1) deleting gmail account
2) backup info ( which will not include any emails since its been deleted )
3) wiping blackberry
4) restoring
5) readding email accounts

any otehr ideas ?

thanx

sound like the emails are being left on the server. Have you set the options to delete on server? Also on the email options, set the option to what ever you want for retension.
another option is "email Reconcillation" check that it's set the way you want.

clear the messages database using DTM
if your are using DTM 4.7-5.0
backup/restore
advanced
in left windows click on the messages (all)
then click clear button
confirm with Yes
and that will clear the database for your email

from DTM 6.0
click on device
delete data
selected selected data
check off messages
then click DELETE
that will clear the Messages database

then see if it does the same

I am on the same boat with you, my Battery life on 9780 drained very fast, I have tried many kinds of method, but it is futile! It dives me to mad. I found an article named "solar battery charger review", it is said the solar battery charger could extend our battery life, sounds interesting!
