Default hybrid OS.103/with radio file .90

Please Login to Remove!

I have AT&T running an unlocked Storm and with my current OS (.99) my connection goes from EDGE to edge constantly. Which "hybrid" OS will fix this? Thanks!

You can easily make your own hybrid with both. Just run the installer for both and go to /program files/common files/research in motion/shared/. You'll see a folder for both just simply copy the CDMA folder from .90 over top of the CDMA folder in the .103 folder and then uninstall the .90 OS. At this point run DM and install the OS.

Myself aswell. .99 with .90 radio. Gonna move to .103 give it a chance and then put the .90 radio in if it doesn't stick.

Was having the same problem since upgrading to .99 & .103 with no hybrid. Just recently did the .103 and .90 mix and so far it works great and no edge (lower case). Life is good now...

Default edge to EDGE problem on .99

Finally something to try. I have a 9530 on .99 with the same edge to EDGE problem on TM network, very annoying. Can't wait to try this .103 hybrid with .90 !!! I will update my findings! These Blackberry Forums is AWESOME!!!

Am I missing something here? I did the above but when I plug in my 9530 nothing happens. Do I need to do something to install the OS? What do i do to install the OS?

Nevermind, I figured it out, hahaha. Thanks!

.103 native gives me only 1X, not 1XEV
.103 with .90 radio works, but still only gives me 1X
.75 official gives me 1XEV

How do I get 1XEV from later OS betas??
If I try .90 radio in .99, will I have same outcome as .90 radio in .103??

Default OS 103 with radio file 90 somewhat success...

I have done the Hybrid OS 103 with radio file 90. Most of the features work. edge to EDGE on tmobile problems gone, consistanly on EDGE now. Freezing under heavy multitasking, opening multiple apps. I have to take the battery out to recover.

Thanks, Edeezy. And you just copy the one file from the CDMA folder in .90 OS to the other OS, and install the OS update, right? Anything else? I still only get 1X in .103, will try with .99 now.

Glad my two cents helped even just a little. Actually I copied the whole CDMA folder from .90 to overwrite the CDMA folder in .130. Then uninstalled .90 from computer and do the OS update.

Wow, I tried it and to my surprise it is very stable indeed. Everything seemed to work on my phone. Very responsive in every way possible. I must agree that this is the best one to date. There was one problem I did experience, the dreaded edge to EDGE on tmobile. But that was easy to fix with .90. Now my EDGE is constantly on. Have not seen edge yet since the install.

I almost forgot to mention, I did experience some freezing issues on both .130 and .130 with .90 radio. I dont know if anyone else experienced this on tmobile. I had to remove the battery to recover back to normal. Seems to happen under heavy load, multitasking on multiple apps at once. Never froze on .99. First time for me.

I would love to try 106 with 90 radio, but im a noob at converting the files so is there a thread that explains how to do this? im ready for a stable build,

Just take the cdma folder from 90 and replace over the 99 cdma folder. Had the same problem with mine on t.mobile. Works great now, constantly on EDGE.

106 is actually for STORM 9500 that is why it will not install. You have to make a hybrid build using 103 and 106. Taking the 106 Java Folder and replacing over the 103 Java Folder. you should be able to install using the loader.exe
