This is fresh off the press folks: a friend at Rove just told me that they've given away their first of three $1000 Amazon.com gift certificates to one Jeff Kucaj, who was lucky enough to have the key that fit the magic box. There are still two keys left, so make sure to stop by their booth (#248).

Of course, if your key doesn't fit, you still have another way to make a quick grand by participating in Chalk's How much do you love your BlackBerry?' contest. Head to booth 114 for more info on how you can win.

Not at WES? Don't worry! You can still win a sweet BlackBerry Cool prize pack. READ THIS POST to find out how easy it is to win.

Rogers has gone all official-like in it's BlackBerry Bold availability, but we scoped out Vodafone's booth at WES, and they were flashing the new handset pretty prominently in their ads. Of course, some of the first glimpses of the BlackBerry 9000 were off of a leaked Vodafone slide and a Rogers doc lambasted with "STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL", so that's no huge surprise. Good on Rogers for having a notification system set up, though - some of their BlackBerry releases were disturbingly quiet. ATT has the U.S. exclusive, but you can expect the Bold from these carriers internationally this summer.

Press Release
For immediate release:

GPXS to Acquire ISEC7 and Adds Hencke Systemberatung BlackBerry Division

GPXS Becomes Europexxx8217;s Largest Center of BlackBerry & Wireless Expertise

Orlando, New York, Amsterdam, Munich - May 14, 2008
GPXS Holding Ltd., the parent company of GPXSxxx8482;, a leading global BlackBerry® platform, solutions, services, and training provider, today announced a definitive agreement to acquire, within the next quarter, ISEC7, the leading BlackBerry business in Germany. In related news, GPXS announced it has acquired the Blackberry focused portion of Hencke Systemberatung GmbH. GPXS made these announcements at Research in Motionxxx8217;s (RIMxxx8217;s) Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES 2008 in Orlando, Florida, US) where 5500 people from the worldxxx8217;s most progressive enterprises have gathered to share and learn about the power of wireless devices and applications.

The GPXS acquisitions of Germany-based ISEC7 and Hencke Systemberatung represent a significant expansion in GPXS product assets, customer base, and development capability across Europe, resulting in GPXS being Europexxx8217;s largest BlackBerry and wireless development center. The talented teams of service professionals and developers from ISEC7 and Hencke are added to the deeply experienced, high-quality technical and professional BlackBerry and wireless experts at GPXS R&D in Limerick, Ireland and in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In a world where enterprises and the companies who serve them are absolutely constrained by the scarcity of technical talent, GPXS has been developing internally and is now adding, through acquisition, technical talent, customer relationships, important partner alliances, and essential product assets to its business. For customers and partners this means that they can expect improved availability of high quality services and products throughout German speaking regions, as well as elsewhere in the world supported by the rest of the GPXS organization. This acquisition also allows the consolidation of leadership, resources, services, and products in North America and the rest of Europe.

"We are delighted to have such high quality teams joining our organization to complement the investments we have already made in building a multi-geography business led by a multi-national leadership team," said Jerome H. Mol, CEO and Chairman of GPXS. "We look forward to the contribution of ISEC7 and Hencke Systemberatung in growing our worldwide business."

"ISEC7 has long admired GPXS and we think this combination is a very important step for ISEC7xxx8217;s growth," said Roger Dost and Marco Gocht, founders of ISEC7. "GPXS has already conquered many of the growth and investment challenges that ISEC7 would have faced as an independent enterprise and we now can accelerate the growth of our business by taking
advantage of capabilities and reach that GPXS already possesses. This is a great growth step for our customers, our partners, and our employees."

"The combination of GPXS and Hencke Systemberatungxxx8217;s BlackBerry division creates a very strong platform for growing BlackBerry adoption in Germany," said Niels Hencke, Founder and Managing Director of Hencke Systemberatung GmbH. "We look forward to becoming part of the fast growing GPXS family as it extends its global reach with BlackBerry platforms, products, and services."

BG, we have nothing but love for you. But sometimes, we get treated by certain companies that shall not be named as if we broke as many rumors as you that, in some way, we were as dangerous as the Boy Genius.

To help eliminate the confusion, this year at WES we made special tee shirts that lets everyone know we're just harmless BlackBerry-loving bloggers. Anyways, why are you looking at us, when BG is right behind you, nabbing pics of the BlackBerry Bold? Oops, too slow. You just missed him.

Note: I know I look constipated. That's my best dangerous' face. See? Not Boy Genius!!!

If the liveblog wasn't enough, we took a ton of photos from the first general session at WES. My thoughts on the session? A lot of "we are awesome" talk, which they may very well deserve, but patting yourself on the back for too long can come off as a bit tacky. Regardless, the Bold is pretty slick, and it was given its due airtime. Covered a lot of bases, including social networking, the recent SAP integration, and a long talk from Jim Kilts about saving companies which are headed downhill. More pictures to come!

A few weeks back I did a pretty intensive comparison of unlimited plans for the four major US Carriers. It seems that Cellular South did not want to be left out of the loop. In what is perhaps one of the best bargains yet, their new BlackBerry Plan rings it at only $49.99. It provides users with unlimited nationwide mobile web and email usage, unlimited nationwide text messaging and unlimited nationwide mobile-to-mobile calls to and from other Cellular South customers. The plan also includes 500 Anytime minutes for calls to outside carriers, and you can add unlimited nights and weekends for another $9.99. Overall this is a great plan and definitely beats out most other carriers (for the time being). If you are looking for a way to save and still want to have a great plan, maybe switching over to Cellular South is the way to go.
