I just resently got the 8220 and I am not able to get my external display to show me who is call. I have to flip it open to see who it is and by that time the call is answered.

Please tell me it is something I can change and how!

Have you checked under options> screen/keyboard? I don't have that BB, I hope it helps.

Speaking of SMS notification, my stopped displaying pre-view on the external screen. I still get incoming call notification but the text msg as gone away not sure why. Any suggestions?

I am new to blackberry and just got the 8220 two days ago, and it just started that if I receive a phone call while the phone is charging, the external display freezes and stops working until I do a battery pull. Anyone else have this issue, or know how to resolve this? I have v4.6.0.278

Try reloading Blackberry attachment services from desktop manager.
Fixed mine.

How do I get bb attachemnt back again? I deleted it when 1st got phone, thinking it was something I do not need. Noww my ext display is gone, so I want it back.

Either that or can I reset to factory.

I've read so many forums and posts and no suggestions work yet

My wife's was doing same and I was able to get it fixed. Here are the steps:
1. hit MENU -->Settings -->Options
2. Open External Notifications -->Display Notification Details and select Never.
