Default How Do You Dial a Number That Starts With " * "

Please Login to Remove!

We had an incident today while riding our motorcycles involving a drunk driver.

I pulled over and tried to call the State Police and their number here in Louisiana is: *LSP

Most phones have separate keys for the star and the pound sign.

Every time I tried to dial *LSP all I was able to get was the letter "A" or"a"?

I hope this make description makes sense?

Hit the * key, then hold the alt key while typing LSP

John

Thanks so much. I was trying everything I could possibly think of and was not able to get it to work. I wish I had known this earlier today :(

Thanks again - that information should be on the FAQ page.

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile BB 8320 OS 4.5.0.81)

Are you sure it's *LSP or is it *577?

Hello All,

Not to hijack the thread but does this mean that you can hold alt and type in letters instead of numbers. I'm thinking of goog411; instead of searching for the letter to number conversion can i just hold alt and type goog then type 411?

Am I making sense???

Thanks,
Matt

You can copy '*' in your MemoPad or SM, and then Paste it to the dial
