Something blew out the storage on my phone again today, and I lost a lot of messages. I'm trying to figure out if there's some application which is the culprit. I'm trying to get the logs off my phone for easier reading, but I can't paste them into an email or memo (too large), send them through Gmail to myself (I can paste them into an email, but get errors if I try to save or send the mail), and can't send them to another computer by Rove SSH (buffer overflow when I try to paste). Any ideas besides manually breaking the logs into chunks or filtering them down and sending each filtered part seperately? Thanks.

You lost text messages?

You have low memory no doubt.

Yes, I know that's the problem. I just don't understand why the free space on my phone went from ~5MB to zero over the course of a couple hours, when I hadn't installed anything or done anything unusual.I suspect that an application went nuts and started quickly filling up logfiles, or something like that. That's why I want the logs before I clear them to free the space.

What applications did you run, any GPS apps? Those especially are large with the map files.

and 5mb Free Memory is on the edge of disaster. You need to dump software you do not need or expect your device to keep doing the same

5M is past the edge of disaster for me. I can't let mine get below 11 or 12M before it starts freaking out.

So...I don't get it. In Help Me!, I see:

File Free: 8324247 bytes
File Total: 54919168 bytes

What's accounting for the other 13.6 MB that isn't showing up in application loader and isn't free space?

I would recommend following the directions in the first post of this thread to maximize your device memory:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ee-memory.html

I also deleted BBMaps and Brickbreaker, Help, and Tasks since I never use them.

I got rid of Help, but I use Tasks. Where in the BB interface does the BB Maps app appear? I'm a big map fan, but I can't remember any application other than Google Maps and TeleNav that has maps.

On the devices I've used/supported from Sprint, there was an icon on the main page for BBMaps. Never used it since I had the other applications that I already liked.
