Hi there,

This is a crosspost and I apologize for that.

I've read every post in this thread and the thread about the killer aaps but my particular question (about BBWeather) has not been posted anywhere.

I'm using a 7105t on T-mobile's network. I have OS v4.0.

I installed BBToday and BB Weather and they've installed correctly but the waether module never connects. I've disabled the firewall and disabled the MDS Proxy. I've set up my location ID with the zip code and it's saving correctly (preserved even after reboot) but for some reason i always get this error message: "Error: Unable to open connection"

btw, all my other third party apps and IM etc are working so i know i can obviously connect to the internet and it's not an APN problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Are you on BES with your company? If so, make sure they have the mds enabled for you on their end. if they don't or they wont, you won't be able to make it work.

Thanks for your reply! In fact, I'm not on BES. I did however, get this to work - I just rebooted a few times and then it randomly started working

How do you know the proper location ID code to insert for a new profile. Mine was preloaded with some place in Texas.

Even though I haven't been on HoFo for a long time, I'd recognize that green icon anywhere ;) Holla!

PS - Your zip code should work just fine. If for some reason it doesn't go here: http://www.aspnetresources.com/tools/locid.aspx

for those with the IPPP error its b/c your not on BES 4.0... i switched from 4.0 to 3.6 and i was able to get ramble to work just fine but my bbweather gave me that same error.. i decided ramble was a more important feature.. besides BBtoday works just fine even though somtimes it times out you just refresh it and its up...

I just purchased my Blackberry about a month ago, and the BBWeather is the first thing I’ve downloaded thus far.

For some reason, I’m getting an error message which reads: could not open tunnel – failed

I disabled the MDS Proxy and currently my firewall is turned off. Any suggestions from the Blackberry intellects? I apologize ahead of time for my lack of BB knowledge. Thanks.

Copied from this thread...............

http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...t=t-mobile+tcp

T-Mobile - Has TCP/IP
Go to Options->TCP (or Tools->TCP)
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: (blank)
Password: (blank)
Note: T-Mobile has fixed the port-blocking issue - see this post for more info. In rare cases, it is reported you may need to enter your T-Mobile username and password, the same information used for logging into www.t-mobile.com/bwc ... If it still does not work properly, just call T-Mobile (call after Feburary 11th, 2005), and ask them to get the "wap.voicestream.com Internet Access Point Name" added to your BlackBerry account at no extra charge.
