What kind of luck is everyone having. It seems to work for me, but just for a few minutes, then won't transfer any data?

Thumbs up

Greetings Beta Testers,

Thanks again for your many responses. We've been QUITE busy these last 48 hours +. So if you don't get an immediate response please understand.

Note: We have gotten a tremendous amount of response from users especially Nextel users. At this time we won't need any further Nextel testers. However if you're a Nextel user, you may send an email. IF we need you we will respond promptly.

Note: We have received quite a bit of feedback, but still in need of a little more. Please if you have the survey and have tested the application please respond. Also we need all Beta testers thus far to test your IM native clients (AOL, IM. ICQ, YAHOO.. Etc) as well as other third party IM tools. ( Trillian..etc)

BBADMIN, NewYork CITO, JayEdwards please resend your emails to [email address]. For some strange reason we never received your emails.

"FiftiesDean " (Mac User) - We would like more information from you in regards to Macintosh Test

Thanks >

I've exchanged almost ten emails with them so far reporting my findings. They have been very good about getting right back to me.

Default Good Job Sharkmodem People

good job. it works for me and was preety easy to install. that says a lot since i'm an idiot. i have the 7100i with nextel, i have one of the only bb that can't be used as modem untill now. this app is a good sign.

the bb as modem is slow but problem just as fast as the other bb's as modems. it's not my high speed cable access but at least i'm connected.

GOOD JOB SHARKMODEM PEOPLE...

Thanks, Cody

Reading the posts and I see your not needing anymore Nextel users at this time, but I'm still interested in trying it out.

ChemBerry, I had the same thing happen (It seems to work for me, but just for a few minutes, then won't transfer any data?). I had to do a hard reset on my BB and then it worked again.

I will say that the team at Shark has been extremely responsive. I'm eager to see this app progress. I think they're on the right track.

One thing I've noticed is that if I try to login to my Yahoo mail account, the Proxy program takes my CPU usage to 100%. The same thing happens inconsistently on some other sites. I've yet to be able to log into my Yahoo acct. Anybody had any luck with this?

I'm using Maxthon and have changed the settings to not download images. It seems to help the speed issue a little.

Looking forward to playing with this during the next several days. Good job, Shark!

um.....it seems to me like it uses data like any other application. I don't see how it would use minutes as it is not making calls.

Survey sent, will do more testing in the next couple of days. Just wanted to say that the program is working quite well. I've been able to connect with Netscape, IE and Firefox ... have also connected to my server with SmartFTP. Nextel is extremely slow, that's not an issue with SharkModem though. I've not been able to connect Yahoo however. It will start to connect, then fade out and try again. It appears as though it's trying to open too many connections. I have the latest yahoo with voice, and it looks like it checks a lot of things when connecting that causes it to time out.

Firefox seems to work the best for a browser, easy to turn off images and just seems to be more streamlined for the slower connection that I get with the BB.

Great product so far!
