so i've been reading a few of the blackberry forums, blackberrforums.com and also crackberry.com and there are a few people that have already gone through 4 8900s as they're previous ones were defective. the production dates that they said had problems were ones dated 06/02/09. you can find the production date on the side of the box. anyone else have problems with certain production dates?
Mine shows "Date 260109" -- I'm assuming this is 1/26/09 -- and the "handheld" was made in "Mexico 3", on what appears to be "Line 22" (assembly line?). To date, mine has been perfect.
mine is also 06/02/09, What was wrong with their blackberrys? This is my first bb phone so I wouldn't know what to look for if something was out of place..
If people are going to report production dates, it's worth also posting the location, and the "line" (I believe that refers to production line). Odds are, if there's any pattern at all to this, we'll only see it in a meaningful way with all the info available.
Mine is 260109, 1/26/09 and mine is great... My keypad shifts like a millimeter up and down but that's only when I make it and not when I use it so I don't care for it. The rest of the phone is perferct.
