Default DMZ did the trick

Please Login to Remove!

Thank you for this it did the trick

What I had noticed when trying to load videos is the arrows ( indicating wifi communication would stop then I would get the error

Now videos load up no issues

firstly go to options / wifi options / YOUR hotspot / wifi tools / wifi diagnostics.
Check "local ip address"
Mine says 192.168.0.197 for example.
(scroll down and you should see as gateway address the IP you will need to go into you router.)
secondly, go to that IP, ie. loginto your router, and find the DMZ option, and add your blackberries IP into the DMZ zone and enable and press save!
And Hey Presto!

I thought I'd add my observations to the pile. Using 162, YouTube works fine in WAP browser using 3G with WiFi turned off, doesn't work at all with WiFi only using HotSpot. Tinytube works fine in WiFi though, so there's no reason Youtube shouldn't work unless Rogers has disabled it somehow to get juicy 3G data revenues.

I'll try tech support and report back.

Sorry to bring up a dead post, but i'm seeing the same thing here. I have an AT&T Bold running .190 and I can stream youtube over EDGE / 3G, but when i activate WiFi it stops working. It works at my work with their wifi, but not with mine... The weird thing, is that we are both using the same ISP, AND Access Points - Linksys WAP54G.

Anyone made any progress with this?

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000 (AT&T))

Youtube mobile on the blackberry.

We're talking YouTube Mobile on 3G vs WiFi.

What I've found with an AT&T Bold on .190 is that it works always on 3G and only on some WiFi configurations.

k, I see. I tried it out on both wifi on and wifi off (3g), and both played You Tube Mobile fine. I have .167.
If I have a problem though I will let you now...I played the most viewed sites, "MSNBC Producer flips out" (thats a riot btw)*wink*

so I search around with wifi on and play some music videos on You Tube Mobile, and got one error...then on another video it plays perfectly fine, (looks grainy though), I did have one video stop mid stream to buffer then started back up again...aww well

on the curve I could never get any of them to play at all, so the Bold is quite an improvement IMO.

Im bumping this again in the hope that someone can help those of us who just get "Loading" and nothing else, whether using wifi, 3g or edge.

Im using a Bold with 4.6.0.162 on Orange UK and still getting this problem.

Default Fix

If you guys have a D-link with "Super G mode" then disable that and your Youtube will work on the bold...

To do this.... Open web browser to 192.168.0.1 using login: Admin password: nothing, just press enter.

Go to "Wireless settings" and un-check "Super G mode".

Router will restart ( 30 seconds ) and shazaam you're done.

It works one day and not the next for my Bold (ATT). Today, for example, it is NOT working. It was working 3 days ago, however. I don't think it has anything to do with the OS. I believe its between You Tube and our carriers.

It's just a shame that a nice device like the bold has intermitent problems playing youtube videos.

I've read tons of pages on many forums, and it seems, that this is not a problem that some FW/OS have; it's just like that > sometimes it works, and sometimes not, depending from device to device too .... that is the most annoying thing !

I also feel that the bold its just a great device, but there are very less third party apps that can actualy help u out, and if there are any - this are so expensive, that I somtimes think I might give it a try to the ihpone again

I must say, 50% of my love to the BB is the nice scree+keyboard combination and rapid OS.

everything else that a normal user would need : like nice apps that actualy WORK and dont't cost a tone ! ...real navigation system FOR FREE ! ...and so on ..I know u know what I mean ...

this being said, maybe someone from RIM reads this, and thinks about this : along with winmo, symbian and so on OS that offer free GPS, and versatility for FREE, RIM should maybe also give it a try/. they could actualy sell more of their BB-is, and have huge success !

Some days I can get the videos to play, others I get an error and others I get a message from YouTube saying "Hello, you either have javaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash player. Get the latest Flash player.
I don't use WiFi only 3G (when it's working )
Probably something obvious that I'm missing, I'm not really the sharpest knife in the drawer. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a way to play them without using WiFi..... simply put in the correct APN settings according to your carrier...

Options -> Setup -> Advanced Settings -> TCP/IP

or you can go here for the APN settings:
hxxp://www<dot>modmyi<dot>com/wiki/index.php/Carrier_APN_Settings

ie. Rogers in Canada

APN: internet<dot>com
Primary gateway IP: 172<dot>25<dot>0<dot>107
