Yeah, I wish I had waited to purchase jivetalk too. Oh well. I will use jive talk when all I am doing is sending IM's, but use the stand-alone Google/AIM/Yahoo clients to just stay logged in because they are not the battery hogs that jivetalk is.

I would still use jivetalk (for the convenience of just one app) if they would develop an alert icon so that I could see I have a new message without needing to look at the jive talk icon.

When I originally re-sent my service books to upgrade to BIS 2.3 (for Sprint) and get the AIM client I ended up with two browsers, but the second browser is now gone.

When I try and use AIM on my BB 8703e (Sprint), I get the message "Please visit blackberry.com/aim to activate your handheld for AOL Instant Messenger."

I go to the website, but there's nothing there that allows me to do so. Anything I can do to fix this?

People that are being directed to sign up...do you have the latest OS software on your device? 4.1.384 I think...not sure if it will help any, but....

Hmm, well that can't explain why I can get it to work and you can't then...must be something else, but I wouldn't know what. :(

Diddo on the continual activation message for me. My co-worker has the same model as me and he was able to get aim working fine through the same download as i and i'm the one with a newer software build of 4.1 then he has.... figures.... Any fixes for this or suggestions would be appreciated. I can get Yahoo working just fine but AIM is definately my primary IM client.

Update: So now all of a sudden everything started working just fine with AOL Instant Messenger. I didn't do a dang thing to get it working either. Just magically happened. So I guess there's hope for everyone out there that still can't get it to work .... Patience.

I'm on Sprint with an 8703e and I don't see the AIM link on the BB browser homepage. Any ideas what I can do?
